for some fucking reason i’m thinking about the mcu again, but the thing about endgame is—
the reason it sucks.  the reason it rings hollow and cheap, the reason it made me feel like a balloon someone untied to let all the air out of—
it completely undermines one of the core tenants of so many of it characters, which it that it’s possible to irrevocably fuck up and still keep going.  it’s possible to commit unimaginable horrors and still wake up each day committed to doing better and righting the wrongs you could.  more than that: it’s worth it to try to be better even after you’ve fucked up irrevocably.
tony stark was a war profiteer whose weapons fueled not only the u.s. military industrial complex, but also terrorist cells like hyrda.  there’s no erasing that.  there’s no taking it back.  but he woke up one day (in a cave, with a box of scraps) and decided to do better.  he fucked up.  he fucked up so bad.  and that didn’t stop him from taking direct action to try and fix the problem; he hunted down the weapons he could, shut down weapons manufacturing, and ultimately killed the person trying to stop him from righting those wrongs.
natasha romanov—well, that needs little elaboration.  she’s got red in her ledger, and there’s no washing it clean.  but by god she’s trying.  she’s spending every day trying to fight the good fight.
thor was a frankly racist war criminal who took his banishment better than he had any right to, using it as fuel to accept he was in the wrong and take immediate steps to improve himself; whose character arc over three movies has him learn to treat his enemies more fairly, his allies more kindly, and allows him to peel back the gold veneer on the imperialist empire his father built and see asgard for what it really is.
you have these people hitting rock bottom of their own volition.  failing.  complete wipeout.  morally and ethically bankrupt.  responsible for the deaths of hundreds (thousands, in tony’s case).   you can’t go back.  you can’t undo those things or bring those people back to life.  but there is still value in trying to do better moving forward.  that’s what all three of their character arcs are about.
except.  then we get to endgame.  and suddenly, there is no value in learning to move forward after unimaginable tragedy, after failure.  suddenly that’s too much to ask.  suddenly the only option is to re-write reality and undo your mistakes, because they’re just too terrible to live with.   suddenly striving to be better becomes cheap and meaningless and there are no steps you can take to improve your current circumstances.  let the guilt consume you.  overwhelm you.  weigh you down until you become useless.  why bother with the future when you can obsess over the past?
jay gatsby-ass movie.  i stg.

☆ boyfriend!heeseung x girlfriend!reader
; After a rough day at work, you finally stepped out of the office building, only to find yourself caught in a sudden downpour. That would've been no problem because you love rainy days, but you didn't have an umbrella, and your phone's battery died as well. You prayed that your boyfriend, Heeseung would pass by your workplace and pick you up, but you knew he was working late. But not today, he came to you with his new car. You were so happy to see him and couldn't wait to thank him for saving you tonight. “You know, I’m ready. Waiting for you every night. Entrusting myself to your touch”
Tumblr media
Another long, stressful day at work.
You enjoyed your job, but lately, you've been feeling more anxious than usual. It's because of your new boss at work. She's always late with everything and is quick to point out mistakes in everyone's work.
"What do you think, would this dress be suitable for the gala?" -she touched the dress you made with a look of disgust on her face.
"Yes, ma'am."
"How can you say that to my face like that? You need to make another one."
"What?"
"Right now!
Tumblr media
You stayed on to finish the dress even after she decided to head home.
"Y/n, I'll take care of it. I'll stick around for the night since my online meeting is scheduled for tonight due to time zone differences. I've got time until then, so let me help you with that dress. Go home and unwind. You've already done so much today." -Jungwon said.
"Are you sure about that?” -he nodded- "Thank you so much. You're the best!"
Jungwon was undoubtedly one of the best stylists at your company and in your country. He's worked with all the big names, from Prada to Bvlgari. But he was also your best friend. He showed you all the tricks and techniques to follow in his footsteps and become the next most successful fashion designer like he was before he shifted his focus to styling.
Tumblr media
You packed up your stuff and went straight home. You were relieved to finally leave the office for the day when something wet fell on your head. And another one, too. Before you knew it, it was pouring with rain and there were big lightning bolts in the distance. You were fine with it because you always loved rainy days. You could be reading a romantic book at home under a warm blanket or you could be under the blanket with your boyfriend, Heeseung, making love all night. However, Heeseung was nowhere to be found now. So does your umbrella. You thought about calling an Uber, but as soon as you pulled your phone from your pocket, you realized it was turned off. It probably doesn't have any battery left. Fantastic.
You went under the building's roof to wait out the storm. Twenty minutes later, the situation hadn't changed. You didn't want to bother Jungwon in the middle of his meeting, so the only thing you could do was pray for Heeseung to come pick you up.
He usually works late, so you had less hope as time passed. Another ten minutes passed, and you saw a big black Porsche pull up in front of the building, the driver slowly lowering the car window.
It was Heeseung. He came to rescue you. Your mood changed instantly. You didn't even notice the rain as you ran to the car and got inside.
“Hi baby!” -he smiled at you.
“Heeseung you came!” -you leaned to kiss him on the cheek.
“Of course, I came to pick you up! I called you countless times so I assumed your phone must've died and I couldn’t leave my princess here for the night in the heavy rain.”
“Awww….my love. What should I do without you?! You’re such a gentleman.” -you gave him another kiss on the cheek.- “And what’s this car? Did you borrow it from someone?”
“No, this is mine. I bought it today and I wanted to surprise you with it. Do you like it, baby?”
“Mhm, of course, I love this one just as much. Nevertheless, I didn’t see much from the car because it’s dark outside and I'm excited to try the backseat as well.”
“You can’t go there now”
“Why??” -you watched him with puppy eyes.
“There’s a surprise for you, but you have to wait for that.” -he said seriously and turned on the engine to drive you home.
“What kind of surprise?”
“You’ll see baby! Just stay still.”
The ride home was chilly, Heeseung’s hand remained on your thighs while slow music played on the radio. The rain hasn’t stopped but the car did at an empty parking lot.
“Why did we stop?”
“Didn’t you want to try out the backseat?”
“Oh, yeah you’re right. But let me dry myself with something because I’m still a bit wet from the rain outside.”
“There’s no need for that Y/n. Just go.”
“Okay?” -you stood up as much as you could and went to the backseat. There were two gift boxes there. One big and a smaller one.
“Omg, Heeseung what are these”
“Open it up.” -he said as he climbed over to your side from the driver’s seat. There wasn't much space for him because of the boxes so you insisted him sit down on your place and you’ll sit on his lap to be more comfortable.
“Ah, this is more comfortable. I missed you so much, Y/n. Your smell, your touch.” -Heeseung kissed your neck as you opened up the first box, trying to keep your moans inside.
“Heeseung this is so pretty! Can you put this necklace on my neck, please?” -he didn’t hesitate and did what you asked. To be precise, he did more than what you asked.
Wet kisses all over your neck. The straps of your dress are halfway down on your arms, while you try to put them back because you know that you two would make a mess if you gave in. So you tried to get away from Heeseung a bit and opened the next box. You discovered a beautiful short black, silk dress and a Prada symbol on it.
“Hee…I should be the one to give you something for coming to me today.”
“Then change into that dress and come for me.”
That sentence was all it took for you to lose your ability to restrain yourself. You had originally planned to wait until you got home, but you couldn't resist him anymore. You turned around to face him and started to unzip the dress you were wearing, leaving you in just your black lingerie. Heeseung watched the scene unfold before him, picturing what he'd do to you in the next few minutes.
Heeseung came closer and started kissing you deeply, ruining your red lipstick. Your tongues were locked in a passionate embrace, saliva dripping all over your jaws. You unintentionally pressed yourself against him through his pants and started riding him, which made Heeseung want more from you. Suddenly you felt Heeseung’s cold hands on your warm back, unclipping your bra.
"Let's wait until you're ready to change into the dress. I want to make sure you're feeling better first."
You just nodded, and before you knew it, he was kissing your breasts and sucking gently on your nipples while massaging the other with his hand. Your pants were getting more and more wet, and you couldn't stop yourself from moaning.
"Just be patient, Y/N. There's more on the way." He helped you get dressed in the Prada dress. Heeseung bent you down on the seat and reached between your thighs. He gave you a smirk when he saw how wet you were. He pulled down your lingerie and threw it on the gearshift.
In no time, your legs were open for him and you felt his hot breath at your entrance. Heeseung slowly started to place sweet kisses on your pussy, following that with his warm tongue tasting each line of your folds. You couldn’t stop mewing and your desire for him just kept growing.
He came up to you, kissing your swollen lips, meanwhile, his fingers found their way to your entrance. The next moment, you felt his long and thick fingers curling inside your pussy. Leaving you breathless, your back arching.
“Mhmm. I-I w-wanted to thank you for your help. But you make me like this instead.”
“Shh baby. You already thanked me with being a good girl for me.” -he kissed your forehead while increasing the pace of his fingers.
It didn’t last too long before you cummed, arousal drenched his index and middle fingers. He put them in your mouth to lick it down, letting you taste your own cum.
“It’s so sweet, right? Like yourself baby.”
“Now turn around”
You were on your knees with him behind your back. Heeseung pulled your dress up to your waist and put his tip close to your entrance. One last kiss on your neck and he was inside you fully. Sliding in and out while you support yourself with the window, your hands leaving prints on the fogged glass.
You could only hear the clapping of your skin together and the beautiful moanings Heeseung filled your ear with. With every pump, you felt like losing yourself and so did Heeseung. You just moaned from the pain and the pleasure while you tightened around him until you felt something form in your stomach. It hurt but felt so right at the same time. You truly felt how much he loves you and you tried to reciprocate that every time.
“He-Heeseung..I-I’m gonna…” -you weren’t able to form words normally but Heeseung knew what you meant and he felt the same.
"Cum for me, baby" -Heeseung whispered, his voice husky with desire. With a few more deep thrusts, you both reached your climax together, your bodies shuddering in unison. You lay there for a moment, catching your breath, feeling the warmth of Heeseung's body against yours. The rain continued to patter against the car windows, creating a soothing rhythm that matched your slowing heartbeats. As the fog on the windows slowly cleared, you realized how much you loved these spontaneous moments with him. As you came down from your high, Heeseung held you close, placing gentle kisses on your shoulder.
“I love you Heeseung!” -you melted into his body.
"I love you too, Y/n," -Heeseung whispered, his breath warm against your skin. "You know, I'm ready. Waiting for you every night. Entrusting myself to your touch."

the room fills with a bright flash of light, washing over your walls and illuminating every dark corner. within a few seconds, thunder pierces the silence. you couldn’t help but try and bury yourself under the blankets. storms like these were the worst.
the ones that rudely declare its presence in the middle of the night, ripping away any chance at a good night's sleep. the deafening booms ensure a restless night filled with dread knowing that tomorrow will drag on with exhaustion. thunderstorms could be nice, but right now, it has you shrinking further and further into your bed.
another loud noise went off, but it wasn’t thunder this time. you bolt up in your bed, staring at mattsun who was standing dumbly in the doorway, his hand still lingering on the doorknob. it was clear he didn’t mean to bust it open like that, but the damage was done.
“do you mind?” you screech out the last word, your heart beating out at your chest.
“i promise i knocked.” he walked in, chuckling with his hand shoved deep into his pockets. he was wearing those stupid gray sweatpants again and if you weren’t so scared right now, your mind would’ve wandered to what happened the last time he wore those. he knew you liked them and wasn’t afraid to sport them around the house. constantly. “seriously, relax, i just came in to check on you.”
“by scaring the shit out of me?” you huff as he climbs into the bed next to you. you cross your arms at the ease of it all, trying to keep your breathing still. at least you could chalk it up to the thunderstorm making you nervous and not the fact that he was inching closer to you.
“that was an accident.” he rolls his eyes. “you know your door gets stuck.”
“yeah because you and makki tried to play jackass and totally fucked up the lock.” the thunder sounded off again but it was mixed with mattsuns laugh. you tried to focus on that sound instead, not realizing you were leaning into him.
“you got me there.” he gives you a lazy smile before looking around. he knew you were scared and were just trying to keep a brave face. “why don’t we go in the living room and watch a movie? we can bring out our blankets and stuff.”
“yeah-“ the thunder cut you off, the lightning flashes throughout the room, casting a fleeting light over mattsuns face. you look at each other for a moment, your eyes holding back so many words that your lips wish to say. but instead you cower from the loud noise and the weight of your own feelings.
“alright let’s go.” he throws the blanket over you like a cape, the warm fabric wrapping itself around you like a safety net. immediately, he’s picking up the rest of your pillows and blankets, waiting for you to walk out of the room first.
you lead the way, taking your time. he follows you out into the room, throwing the pillows down on the floor.
“hey!” you snap at him, hurrying your way over to pick them up.
“what? we’re gonna lay on the floor.” he said like it was obvious. your eyes trail from him to the couch before you roll them.
“alright, fine. go get your stuff then.” you start arranging the pillows and blankets to a makeshift bed. he goes to his room without another word, hurriedly grabbing his stuff before the next thunder sounds off.
he tosses the pillow against your head, causing you to stumble forward. you whirl around, glaring at him as he holds up the other pillow with a goofy grin.
“are you really trying to have a pillow fight with me right now?” you scoff.
“not much of a fight though, is it.” he shrugs, moving closer. your eyes widen as you scoop up the pillow, turning to whack him against the head. he starts laughing, utterly amused at your attempt.
“shut up.” you sigh, as you move to sit down. mattsun looks panicked for a moment, so split that if you weren’t already looking at him you would’ve missed it. unbeknownst to you, mattsun was trying his best to distract you from the storm outside, trying to keep your attention on him.
“alright let’s put on a movie, yeah?” he throws down his pillow next to you, it landing with a soft thud before he practically flops onto the mountain of blankets youre perched on.
“what are we gonna watch?” you ask, trying not to look at the raging storm outside and instead focus on the one brewing deep within his dark eyes.
as soon as he turned on the tv, it blew out. in fact, all the lights in the apartment went out. the slight ticking noise of the AC filtering out before thunder overpowered it, booming throughout the room, causing you to smush yourself further into mattsun’s side.
instantly, his arm is around you. “hey, it’s alright. let me light some candles.” he presses a soft, comforting kiss against your head before getting up, making sure the blanket is safely covering you in his absence.
luckily, you had candles stored all throughout the shared apartment. he carefully took them out as well as his trusty lighter. he went around the room lighting each one, racing against the storm. your eyes didn’t leave him. soon enough, the warm glow filled the otherwise dark space, doing its best to combat the bright flashes from outside.
“there.” he said, looking somewhat proud of his job well done before he turned to look at you, almost surprised to see your eyes already set on his. you sat up, the blanket falling off of your shoulders, pooling around your waist. he slinks over to you and sits down on the blankets, easing you down with him as you lay side by side. “it’ll pass soon, im sure of it. just focus on me, okay?”
“okay.” you say, your voice barely above a whisper. it was a miracle if he heard it at all. the thunder continued to roar outside and he felt you start to tremble in his arms. he looks at you again, slowly moving in to kiss you on the cheek.
“focus on my lips,” he says, starting to place sloppy, opened mouthed kisses along your neck. your sleep shirt — or rather, his t shirt– slips down your shoulder, leaving it bare. mattsun wasted no time as he trailed down your neck, leaving more kisses along your exposed skin before making his way back up.
and whatever he was doing — it was working. instead of focusing on the lightning bolts crashing down outside, all you could do was melt from the kisses he laid upon your skin.
his deft fingers find your chin, pulling you in closer so he can properly kiss you on the lips. he was always a good kisser, taking his time as if it would be a crime not to. molding his lips to yours, savoring each bit as you easily find your rhythm together.
even though the kiss wasn’t explicitly passionate, it still left you breathless all the same. each slow caress stole more oxygen from your lungs until you were practically gasping for air. but he didn’t let up, sliding his hand up your thigh as his lips press against your neck.
thunder clashed overhead again, causing mattsun’s hold on your thigh to grow tighter, using it as leverage to pull you flush against him as his own legs slot between yours.
“gonna prep you now.” he mumbles against your neck. his fingers grab a hold of your flimsy sleep shorts and pulls them all the way down, along with your underwear. you gasp out but he swallows it, consuming your air once again.
“already so wet f’me.” he murmurs in your ear, his lips resting on your lobe. he quickly slips another finger in, pumping both of them quickly to try and stretch you out, relishing in the way you squirm under him.
once the small whine left your lips, he couldn’t hold back anymore. giving you one last peck and sliding down, placing a kiss on each of your thighs before his tongue began to tease your folds.
mattsun could lay between your legs for hours if you let him, taking his time to savor you, having you come undone around him again and again until your thighs trembled around his head. it was his salvation, the answer to his prayers, the fix he needed to get through the night.
but he didn’t have that much time tonight, not when you were in desperate need of distraction. your fingers tugged on his hair, causing him to groan out into your cunt. the vibrations sending you closer to the edge. it was too much — his hips stuttered against the blanketed floor, begging for some sort of relief.
“issei-“ you breathe out. mattsun curses the thunder for trying to eat up your sweet sounds, but he moves back up to you so he can press his lips against yours.
“yes?” he asks, slipping a finger past his waistband and sliding off his sweatpants so he can free his aching cock. he needs to feel you. your breath hitches as it nudges against your thighs, his cock already wantonly twitching the moment he comes into contact with you.
“please, i’m ready.” you squirm in his hold, reaching down to wrap your hand around him. he hisses out in pleasure, his forehead knocking down onto yours as he feels his whole body succumb to you, his craving for you becoming too irresistible.
“okay.” he lets you guide him to your entrance, his tip pressing against your clit and trying to soak up all the slick and spit on your messy cunt. his hand wraps around yours, using it to guide him into you quicker, slowly pushing in.
the stretch always took a second to adjust to once he was fully seated in your warm cunt, buried at the hilt. his size was no easy feat to take, the overwhelmingly sweet pleasure always accompanied by the slight sting of pain. and he was always so patient, softly peppering your skin with kisses. but tonight, you were too impatient for all of that, desperate to feel him. so you start moving your hips, catching him by surprise.
“slow down.” he grips onto your hips tightly, stilling you in place so he could properly collect himself. you pout up at him, not thrilled about having to wait any longer but you humor him. “i’ll give you what you want, don’t you worry, pretty.”
“then get on with it.” you breathe out as he pulls out of you – his tip nestled back at your entrance. he can feel you clench around him, strategically pulsing in a silent command to hurry up. before he starts, he cages you in his arms, pushing back in and lazily moving his hips with shallow thrusts. a small teasing smile takes up his face at your attempt to be demanding.
“don’t get all bratty on me now, i was just getting started.” his hips start to move faster, his cock practically kissing your cervix. each of his thrusts blurring your thoughts together, your mind growing dizzy from the intense pleasure. he looks at you and chuckles, watching your eyes roll to the back of your head in amusement. “you just wanted to be fucked dumb on my cock, is that it?”
“n-no.” you say, turning your head away from him in slight shame. but he barely lets you as he cusps your chin and pulls your attention back onto him.
“you’re lying now?” the smile on his face turns dastardly and you can’t help but moan as he pulls you tighter to him. feeling him stretch you out, overpower your senses, brings you closer as you teeter on the edge.
the thunder roared outside, but you barely heard it as it melted away in the background. it causes you to jump a little bit but you’re secure in mattsuns arms, his hold tightening. his pace doesn’t relent, in fact, it only speeds up. a softer look graces his features as he remembers what he was trying to do – distract you.
the candlelight caresses his face, intimately wrapping itself around his skin in the way that had you envying the soft light. to be that close to him, to share that space, you wanted more. it’s all feels more soft, muted, like he’s really taking care of you.
you clench around him, causing him to groan as you squeeze his cock, barely letting him pull out. he could never keep his cool around you for too long.
“you’re so fucking pretty. how’d i get so lucky, huh?” he pulls you in closer, pressing up against you as if the air between you two was intruding in your space.
every time his skin touched yours, something new planted itself in its place, running deep through your veins, directly to your heart. no matter how many times you tried to starve it, neglecting to nourish it — it continued to grow to the point you couldn’t bury it anymore.
you loved him.
and it terrified you.
but it also drew you closer to your edge.
“sei-“ you call out, your fingers gripping the blanket as you arch your back, your chest pressing against his. you can feel your thighs tightening around his hips, his large hands cupping your backside as he practically lifts your bottom half up to meet his thrusts.
you’ve never felt him this deep, like his cock was lodged all the way up inside of you, piercing your heart. you could barely speak, just babbling his name and letting out mewls of pleasure.
he was fucking you dumb but not dumb enough, as those feelings you’ve been trying to hide slips through the cracks and your faced with the horror of loving him — or rather, the horror of possibly having your heartbroken by him.
“getting close?” he grunts down at you, his voice raspy and streaked with desperation. you brave yourself to look up at him through half lidded eyes, barely able to open them up all the way. you can feel him twitch inside of you as he lets out a groan — teetering on his own edge but adamant to feel you come undone around him first.
“yes, so, so close-“ you cry as his fingers find your clit again, lightly brushing against it and causing you to spiral down, to a paradise or the depths of hell — you didn’t know. all you knew is that you wanted him to come with you as you clutch onto him, dragging him with you as he fills you up with his cum.
he falls to his elbows, careful not to put all of his weight onto you. he kisses you softly, even though he couldn’t catch his breath. he didn’t want to pull out just yet, but knew that he wanted to clean you up.
with one last kiss to your head, he slides out and hisses at the sting of overstimulation. sliding his pants back on, he quickly makes his way to the bathroom. he’s back in another second with a towel, carefully cleaning you up and sliding his shirt back over your head.
you lay there, letting him take care of you as your hazy mind starts coming to again, swirling with many questions that you decide to wait and face them in the morning. for now, it was just nice to soak up all the affection he was giving you.
“i’m gonna blow out the candles, okay?” he asks you softly. you nod, letting him to his thing before he comes back to you and cradles you close to him, getting settled for the night.
even though the thunder had long since died out, neither of you moved. too lost in the sanctuary of each other's arms, creating a warm, safe space where you could both let your guard down, even just a little bit.
mattsun kisses your head gently as you nuzzle further into him. the two of you drifting off into a peaceful sleep, comfortably wrapped up in the blankets and each other's unspoken love.
and in the morning, when makki awoke to see his best friends curled up together on the floor, he didn’t say anything. he just quietly smiled to himself and retreated back into his room.

Tasuku Tsubakino x reader

Tumblr media
You have a staring problem.
Everything about her is pink. Tsubaki tucks her hair behind her ear with demure elegance, manicured nails tangled in her matching rose colored balayage. She leans over the table and points to the textbook between you, pretty, plush lips pulled into a tight and tiny smile. You swear she’s blushing under her painted cheeks-
But that’s not what you’re staring at.
No, you’re locked on to the pastel pink strap that's fallen down her shoulder, the scalloped lace edge pressing into her skin when she moves. The divet it leaves in the skin would fit the edge of your tongue so, so perfectly. The gaps in her shirt feed your addiction more; the lace continues down, down, right to the curve of her chest and presumably farther, all the way to her-
“Uh, hello?” Tsubaki waves that hand in your face and you realize you’ve been ignoring her question. This was supposed to be a study session, not an OnlyFans stream. “Earth to cutie, are you there?”
“Uh, yeah, sorry, just-” You swallow down that lump in your throat. “Just tired.”
“Well, wake up,” she winks. “You promised me a long night, remember?”
Her sentence lifts at the end flirtatiously, like she’s not talking about statistics homework. Finals are coming up, you should really focus-
But her perfume smells like cherry blossoms and it makes your chest bloom pink.
“Can you explain this again?” you ask, pointing to a random problem in the book between you. Your dorm room is less of a mess than usual, cleaned just for her. You’re both on the floor, in the middle of your blue shag carpet, study materials and snacks scattered in between. It's terribly, unfortunately platonic, except for the way you ogle and want in silence.
“You’re totally going to fail this class,” she sighs. Her hair falls over her shoulder when she shakes her head in disappointment. Yeah, you probably will fail, but at least the room will still smell like her when you jack off tonight. You’ll get to be alone with her scent and the memory of how her bra strap just comes right off-- perfect for easy access.  If only her panties came off just as easily, you wouldn’t be so fucking pent up and horny. Maybe she’ll get sloppy and you’ll get a peak under her skirt when she stands, and you can see a hint of matching pink--
Wait. Do her panties match her bra?
The thought hits you like a lightning bolt.
You bet they do. They have to, right? Tsubaki cares about fashion stuff, cares about looking good. There’s no way she hasn’t left the house without making sure every part of her outfit is perfect. You bet she has a little thong on, some sort of cunty g-string that you could peel away with your teeth-
“What are you thinking about?” she asks. You’ve been quiet for a very long time.
“Panties,” you say before you can stop yourself. Your cheeks flush with heat as Tsubaki processes this; eyes wide, then narrowed with suspicion.
“What?” she says.
“Uh, like that Charli XCX song?” You fumble for an answer. “You know, about guessing underwear color. It’s stuck in my head.”
Good save.
“Oh, yeah?” She jerks her chin to you. “Sing it to me then.”
Bad save. “Uh- Oh, I wanna-- see your underwear?”
Before you can struggle more, Tsubaki reels back and punches your shoulder much too hard. You whine at the pain. She's strong as hell; even her playful taps ache.
“You jerk! Are you serious?!”  she laments. “I’ve been trying to get you to fuck me for, like, months and you’ve just been, like, ignoring my signals! You think girls just-”
She sighs and plays with her hair the way you love, this move so over the top and obviously practiced that you feel dumb for not noticing earlier. “No! It’s all a careful ruse!”
You slam your book closed and throw it across the room. It plops on to your bed. “Wait, really?”
“Like, duh!” She flits with her hair almost nervously.  “You’re so oblivious.”
So distracted by her, more like it.
“By the way-” Tsubaki kicks her legs forward and sits back onto her butt. “They do match.”
Pausing, she takes a deep breath. Then, she flips the front of her skirt up, a quiver to her hands, and you get a good look. The lace is intermeshed with sheer fabric, pressed against the growing bulge of her untucked cock. Her body is tight with want, core flexed, thighs tightened, and each breath shallow. The smallest drop of wet dots the front of her panties and the spot darkens as she pulses harder. Your own body reacts at the sight, your cunt pulsing, clit equally hard as her-
“Do you think I’m sexy?” she coos gently, surprisingly vulnerable.
“Holy shit. I’d do anything for you.”  You say, on your hands and knees already. “And those fucking panties.”
By the time you've crawled to her, she's waiting, pressing forward into you to catch you in a kiss. Her lips are soft and sweet like cherries, her lipstick smears across your skin with each breathy kant of your head.  Every touch leaves a trail of pink across you, across your cheeks and down your neck and back to your mouth, until there's more lipstick on you than on her. You kiss her until its smear across her mouth and down her chin in an undeniable mess-
Her hands are already pushing at the elastic waist of your pants, the same rushed tempo that you fumble with her shirt. It’s cotton and stretches for your wandering touch.
“You taste so good-” she coos into your mouth. Greedily, you suck on the soft of her tongue and earn yourself a deep, rolling moan. “Shit-”
Your hands slide up the exposed, firm plane of her stomach, under those lacy cups of her bra. Her tits are small, barely handfuls under her padded bra, but the pebbled edge of her nipple is raised and begging for attention. Instead, you trace the indented skin the garment left behind, under her breasts, around her back, anywhere marked by elastic. The give of her skin, soft and supple, gives under your touch as you trace the scalloped pattern left behind.
“Take it off already,” she pouts so beautifully. Her own hands are tugging at the edge of your binder.
“But it looks so pretty.” you mumble back.
You continue to tease her, caressing everywhere she’ll let you. Her hair is wild against the carpet, caught in the cyan shag, almost as rosy as her cheeks and chest. When she lifts her hips and helps you drag her skirt to her ankles, you’re face to face with her clothed cock, and how it kicks at your attention. The fabric is just thin enough that you can see her shape and the pearl of precum, peeking through the matching lace of her panties. It’s thick, it’s hard, it’s begging to be fucked.
“Tsubaki,”  you say as you peel back the fabric. “Is your cock just as pink as the rest of you?”
She doesn’t have a chance to respond before you find out for yourself. Yes-- yes, her cock is flushed pink, with a pretty little vein running along the underside. It kicks in your hand when you give it a stroke, pulling a perfect bead of precum from her.
“Shit,” she murmurs as she keens into you. She presses on to her hands, keeping your chest against hers- “Oh, shit-”
Her head rolls back, exposing that column of neck. She’s built long and lean, yet sturdy enough that you aren’t afraid to manhandle her a bit; you press your face into her throat so hard that she tumbles back, you on top of her, clothed core pressed against her half exposed cock. Only half consciously, you spread your legs around her waist and grind, searching for her pleasure and yours. Your sleep pants are thin enough that you can feel the ridge of lace, enjoy the thick shape of cock as it slots between the lips of your cunt, your pants immediately dampening from your own excitement.
“Shit-” Tsubaki repeats, “That feels too good, shit--”
Her hips buck against you, pressing her cock through your clothed pussy. The head of her cock bumps against your swollen clit and your stomach tightens with heat, so hard that you rut against her again and again, chasing the molten burn that’s building inside you. Your lips find hers again, muddling her high, breathy whines. The sensation’s becoming too much; she’s fumbling at your hips, whining wordless pleas-
“Oh, I’m gonna-”
You feel it before Tsubaki can finish her sentence. The contraction of everything, followed by the jagged, jumping release. Wet warmth spills across the front of your pants and down her stomach. As she cums, her head falls back again and you get a good peak of how you’ve undone her. Tears prick the edge of her eyes, smearing that carefully placed eyeliner down her beet red cheeks. Her mouth hangs open in silence, frozen in place as her orgasm hits and hits and hits-
By the time she’s boneless, your own high has fizzled away, but it’s worth it to see her so absolutely ruined. A sense of pride washes over you-- yeah, you did that without even taking off your pants.
“That’s so embarrassing,” she whines. “I came so easy.”
“Nah,” you reassure, eyes flickering down her body.  The sheen of cum drips down her underwear.  “It was fuckin’ hot.”
She tucks her hair behind her ears, a tiny smile tugging at  her lips. “You think?”
You nod and run your hands down your own front. Her excitement is smeared across your poor pajamas; there’s so much that it webs across your fingers when you pull away. “You made a fucking mess.”
“I can clean you up-” She takes your hand into hers and brings it to her face. Kissing your fingertips, she then pops the filthy digit into her mouth and sucks. When she lets go with a pop, your finger is clean and dry. “If that’s what you want.

For some days, the occasional crackling voices from that speaker accompanied your life when the boys were away.
Of course, you relished the time they did spend at home. Even though they were busy training in most of their free time, and out late on missions, they would come and chat with you while they made breakfast, or came to rest and watch some tv.
To them, it probably appeared that nothing was different between you and Jungkook. Whenever they were home, he took the chance to train with them. You knew he missed them now they were out so much without him. Anyone would have noticed as much, given the way he hovered around the receiver, always staying up after you slipped quietly to bed.
But once the house emptied, the smiling Jimin, raucous laughter of Hope or the fond smiles of Yoongi would be replaced by the stony silence of Jungkook.
Somehow, you were growing used to it.
Either that, or you would be firing comments between each other, no longer sure if it counted as fighting or having a conversation. Anything to fill up the silence.
You trained more too, your powers’ strength returning slowly even in the course of a week. And since that night, a sort of ritual had begun at dinner. Of course, you would have chosen anyone else’s company over Jungkook’s, but you had to make do. You would cook something simple, ordering him to chop up ingredients at the very least while he complained (“if you’re just going to criticise me, do it yourself!”). To this, you would remind him that he wanted to eat the food, did he not?
If anything, it was a cathartic vengeance for the power he held in the training rooms.
But anytime the receiver blared into life, the two of you would fall quickly into silence, drinking in every word, even the shortest exchange, of the boys which were out who-knows-where.
Tonight was one of those times. The two of you were sitting across from each other as always, beginning to eat.
The radio sparking to life cut off your conversation. Jungkook put his chopsticks down completely, turning his attention towards it. It was Jimin’s voice.
“Did anyone else see that?”
“I did. Hold on, I’ll go check it out,” Hobi replied.
Then an order from Namjoon.
“Yoongi, go with him.”
You continued staring at the small device even while no more exchanges could be heard. That wasn’t the usual stuff they talked about. Normally, it was just routine things, checking up on each other and confirming what they had planned.
But it was probably nothing. It was presumably quite a feat that they hadn’t come across any sort of difficulty in all the missions so far, and this would prove to be a false alarm or easily dealt with. You had seen what the boys were capable of, after all – just Hobi and Yoongi by themselves could be lethal.
That didn’t stop you from hanging on expectantly, though.
At last, the silence was broken. But not by what you had hoped.
“Guys? What can you see?”
Namjoon’s question was met with no reply. You couldn’t tear your eyes from the small radio, breath captive in your lungs.
Then, a jarring noise leapt like lightning from the speaker, making both you and Jungkook flinch. High-pitched, grating feedback, it faded almost instantly, but the scar it had torn in the previously peaceful kitchen remained.
Frozen to your seat, your food was well and truly forgotten as you heard Jin chime in next.
“Guys, get out of there.”
Namjoon’s trust in his right-hand man was evident, no hint of question in his voice as he reverted orders.
“Code two, hide the target and evacuate-”
“Yeah, we might have a problem with that,” Jimin cut him off.
A loud boom was audible, despite the limits of the small receiver that reduced it to white noise. Once again, it cut off.
It was then you realised Jungkook was on his feet. He snatched the radio from its spot on the counter.
“Stay here,” he said, back already retreating.
A second later, you were dashing after him. Reaching his side, you both shoved shoes on.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
Jungkook glared at you with absolute incredulity, frown etched in his face. He didn’t even leave time to stare you down, however, already pushing past you and all but running down the front stairs.
You followed just as fast.
“I’m coming with you. They’re in trouble.”
“Which is exactly why I’m telling you to stay here,” he spat over his shoulder.
His foot tapped restlessly as the large front door slid open. The moment he had enough space to pass through, he was marching into the expansive garage, with you hot on his heels.
“I can help,” you argued.
Jungkook wove between the cars and stopped by a motorcycle. Turning to you, his face was set, frame livid and glare fierce while he dug harshly in his pocket for the keys.
“We don’t have time to argue.”
His tone was firm, clearly infuriated.
Just then, another concerning explosion crackled through the radio, standing your hair on end.
Stepping forwards, you swung your leg over the back of the motorbike and stared challengingly up at him.
“No. We don’t.”
The sound he let out bordered on a growl, but the next moment he had situated himself on the front of the bike, and a roaring filled the air as it shuddered into life beneath you. Left with virtually no time to react as he pulled away, you were forced to cling to the man in front of you.
With your arms thrown around him, you felt him stiffen under your touch. But then he was urging the bike forwards, and not a second later wind collided with your face as you shot from the base and into the night. The rapidly increasing speed left you to shelter your face in the back of his neck.
The cacophony in your ears and the rush of air that tugged your hair behind you should have alerted you that Jungkook was disregarding basically all existing traffic laws.
But you couldn’t care less.
With the blur of city lights whizzing past you, all you could think of was the speed with which you could reach the boys. The streets were fairly empty, but cars were dotted here and there. Probably cut some up, judging by the blaring horns at one intersection.
Thundering onto a wider street streaked with neon, your eyes fell on a billboard. As you sped towards it, the picture cut to purple fire and rubble, a live news banner scrolling along the bottom.
Then it was gone again, Jungkook guiding the bike around the corner and through more city streets.
The images set your head spinning, all the more restless on the back of the bike the longer you were helpless to do anything but wait for Jungkook to get you there. How was he going to find them? You hadn’t even been told where they were going. They hadn’t bothered you with mission details ever since you and Jungkook had been stood down-
“Almost there!” Jungkook’s yell was barely audible over the wind.
“Wait, how can you-”
“They’re protecting something called the Razer. Their plan B was to stash this weapon in some underground parking lot. You head down there, I’ll help fight them off. Looks like they were ambushed.”
“How do you know all this?” you finally made yourself heard.
“I snuck into Namjoon’s office, okay? I saw the plans,” he called back. “When we get there… you might have to fry this thing. It can’t fall into their hands, better that we destroy it altogether.”
You had no time to muster a reply before the bike was swinging around a corner and skidding to a halt.
At the end of this street, the sky was lit up. Purple fire blazed, just like on the billboard, but this time it was real, licking into the sky from the wreckage of a building on the corner. Other beams of light flashed, shocks of red and luminous white smattering the fronts of the buildings.
You got no more than a glimpse of a few figures silhouetted against this backdrop before Jungkook pulled you down to shelter behind the bike.
A hand on your shoulder keeping you in place, he peered over the top of the bike before returning his gaze to you.
“The building that’s been destroyed, the Razer should be in there. You should be able to make a way through the rubble. You’ll know when you see it. Do you remember training the other day?”
Trying to take in his instructions, you nodded.
“Use as much force as you can to overload it, like we practised. Should fry the weapon’s circuits.”
“Okay,” you muttered, taking a glance over the bike again. The street was littered with people, but no one seemed to have noticed your arrival.
“Y/N, they don’t know about you,” Jungkook’s voice recaptured your attention. “I’ll join the fight. It’ll distract them and buy you some time, hopefully give the others a chance to turn the tide as well. Don’t use your powers until you have to.”
He stood then, preparing to move around the bike and head into the fray.
His step faltered before he could go further.
When he turned back, a ray of gold flickered in his eyes.
“And Y/N… be careful. This weapon… if it strikes you, it can strip you of your power.”
Your eyes were locked for a long moment, his words sending a bolt of cold fear straight to your heart.
He took a breath, but said nothing more. An instant later, he was gone, the intensity of his eyes now no more than a mirage, quickly vanishing in your memory.
There was no time to agonise over it. Nor was there time to reconcile the implications of this fight, your first mission – your priorities turned to the weapon that was now in the open far from safe hands.
A flash of gold split through the night, sparks reflected in the bike’s mirrors.
Sucking in a lungful of air, you shuffled around the front wheel, slowly leaning out. Another blinding burst of gold showed you the outline of Jungkook, golden light firing him into the air. Sparks flew as he collided, wrestling, with someone halfway up a building.
The next moment, their figures plummeted to the ground.
Jungkook was the one who stood up again, the other staying motionless.
However, you weren’t here to watch. There was no time to stick around here. By now, others had noticed the newcomer to the fight; figures advancing your way down the street prompted you to get moving.
Ducking slightly, you picked your moment and sprinted the short distance from the bike to the edge of the street, flattening yourself against brick before checking no one had seen you.
All that greeted you were warring lights and the blur of fighting, backlit by the ever-raging fire.
Confident in being unnoticed, you sparked to life again, taking off on light feet in the opposite direction to the fighting. You raced around the corner to the neighbouring road, which was totally devoid of Bolt’s minions.
Judging by the short glimpses you had garnered so far, you guessed the group that had ambushed your friends were decked out with Bolt’s stolen goods – and were out for more. But you had no real idea how many of them had powers or not.
Or, come to think of it, how many of them there were at all.
All that mattered, though, was that there weren’t enough to have found you yet. You had run the length of the street, slowing as you reached the corner where the ruined parking lot stood.
Pressing your back against the wall, you edged around to peer at the damage. The fire was brighter here, making you squint. A few shapes darted in and out of view on the other side of the flames, but this side was still deserted.
This had to be it. Somewhere among this destruction was the weapon which had caused so much trouble.
Sheltered from view by V’s vibrant flames, you approached as close as you dared until you stood right in front of the rubble. You clambered over a few smaller chunks of concrete before you decided to begin.
With one more look around for security, you breathed deeply and raised your hands, palms only a hair away from a large block that used to form part of a wall, but now lay at your feet.
Biting your tongue, you finally let your powers out.
Remembering Jungkook’s words, you focussed on broadening the scope of your power, letting as much flow from your fingertips as possible. Blue bloomed in front of your eyes. A second later, the boulder began to glow the same hue.
Gritting your teeth, you propelled even more of your power downwards. For a moment, the rock resisted, only growing brighter blue. Then all at once, it gave way with a splintering sound that was swallowed up by the roaring of the fire.
With the sudden caving, you stumbled forwards, supressing your powers hurriedly to hide any light that would give you away. Just before you could trip into the gap revealed by the destruction of the rubble, you caught yourself with a hand on the ruptured concrete edge.
The fire did little to light up the dark space that now gaped below you.
Crouching, you peered carefully around. After a moment, your eyes had adjusted enough to reveal a concrete staircase, shrouded in the debris from the collapsed wall.
You shifted closer until you could lower yourself over the edge. Holding onto the remains of the wall, you dropped down onto the stairway.
It was seriously dark down here. To continue, you had to summon a small ball of light. Blue hovered above your palm, helping you pick through the dust and bricks that littered the ground from the building’s collapse.
On the plus side, it was utterly empty. You were clearly the first one to break through to this part, so you pushed ahead, following the stairs down as per Jungkook’s instructions. The plan had been to hide it underground.
Further on, you found the base of the staircase drowned in another pile of rubble. A larger slab encroached, looming from where it had been dislodged from the ceiling, lowering the height of the space. You didn’t dare try to move that one, however, almost certain that it was keeping a larger amount of debris from filling this corridor entirely.
Ducking quickly under that, you shot through a couple of smaller pieces before you could see a way through.
Not wanting to shift more stone than you had to, you wriggled through the gap you had created. The other side was lit with a wavering yellow light, making the stairs’ shadow flicker. A few more steps led down before you finally found the end to the enclosed space.
A blank corridor led to a door which hung off its hinges. Pausing when you reached it, a bigger, equally blank space opened out in front of you.
Though a small part of the ceiling had caved in the opposite corner, a pile of rubble collected there, the intact state of the walls told you that you were finally below ground level. The space was wide, but heavy with the oppressive air of industrial parking towers, walls strewn with graffiti. Artificial lights flickered in the corner of your vision.
The lights quivered even more as a loud boom ricocheted through the space.
That confirmed you were heading in the right direction, at least. Taking off running, you skidded through the next doorway and were instantly greeted with chaos.
Purple flickered and danced along the opposite wall – although you weren’t sure there was a real wall there at all. In front of this barrier of his own making, V was silhouetted.
Before submerging yourself in the waves of heat the large fire was throwing off, you took a breath. You couldn’t make out any enemies in the gaps between the flames, the light too dim and distorted by the blaze, but V shot another burst of flame as you watched. Your eyes were too dazzled to see if it had hit someone.
“V!” you called, hurrying to his side.
He turned with a jolt, arms still raised. Stopping in your tracks at his abrupt movement, you watched his eyes cloud with recognition.
Slowly, he lowered his palms.
“…How?”
You filled in the blanks of his low, startled question easily. How did you get here?
“No one followed me, I promise,” you stepped closer, “we heard you on the radio. We need to destroy that weapon.”
Nodding, V shifted his eyes furtively around before they landed on the only intact door in the place.
“There- mmph!”
V raised an arm to point, but was suddenly thrown in that direction himself.
“V!” you cried, crouching to his side, but your eyes were scanning the flame.
Hissing, V rolled over, clutching at his side which had been struck with… something. It wasn’t the same thing that had hurt him last time, but you knew the weapons Bolt was using were anything but friendly.
“Go… destroy...” he urged you, though the following groan of pain made you hesitate.
Gulping, you looked helplessly between V, who was struggling back to his feet, and the doorway he had shown you. Just as he stumbled upright, both of your attention was snatched by a figure breaking through the flames.
They had an arm over their face, grimacing at the heat, but they lifted their weapon blindly anyway.
You dived to the floor, scurrying away from the round of bullets strewn about the space.
Before either of you could retaliate, a shot of gold pierced the purple veil, sending the attacker flying. As the shots ceased, you caught sight of a silhouette you recognised darting behind the column of fire.
“Go!” V shouted again.
Meeting his eyes, you steeled yourself with a breath. While you wanted to stay and help against those enemies trying to break through the fire to get to V, with Jungkook to contend with on the other side as well, they were surrounded.
Now it was up to you.
You had found yourself with your back against the very door you needed to go through. Spinning, you wrenched it open to be met with another descending staircase. The lights had gone out totally here, but there was no time to waste.
Plunging into the darkness with nothing but your own light to guide you, you felt the temperature drop. Your skin was clammy, sweat from the heat above now clinging icily to your face, but you weren’t hanging about.
Feet finally finding flat ground, you looked around urgently until you caught sight of a shape ahead.
It was a large box, black so it nearly blended in with the darkness. Scrabbling to get to the weapon within, you easily blasted aside the simple metal fastenings.
On opening it, bright light startled your eyes once more. A clear sphere filled with what looked like bolts of lightning formed the centre of the device. The surrounding parts containing it were white, clearly a prototype, and resembled a gun.
Already feeling your powers bubbling up, you didn’t hesitate to place your hands on the spherical centre. A tingle flew up your spine.
Refusing to let fear get to you now, even with the knowledge of what this thing could do, you continued to push until your powers spilled from your fingertips. Blue lightning skittered over the glass surface, caging the still writhing light within.
Glowing brighter and brighter as you expelled more power, you began to feel something. Like the time in training when Jungkook had connected your powers and you had felt his golden electricity – except this, this was cold.
The glass shattered between your hands, noise and light smothering your senses as you were thrown backwards.
Your back met concrete, your own gasps heavy in your ears.
The cold was still there.
Blinking rapidly, you grappled to hold onto your powers, keep them flowing. Squinting into the brightness surrounding you, you found a brilliant white light had sprung from the weapon’s casing, seemingly latched onto your own powers.
Fear jolted through you. The light, whatever its power, was pushing back, trying to devour your own.
You had been trained for this. But – and you would never repeat this – you longed for Jungkook in that moment. The safety of the training room, and the usual guarantee of coming out alive, had all fallen away.
It was just you. Alone.
But there was a fight raging above you, all for this thing. You had to do this: for Yoongi and Hobi who could be anywhere right now. Hurt, bleeding? For Jin and Namjoon, wanting to come out on top. Jimin, fighting for V who was penned into the parking lot defending you.
And for Jungkook.
You had been trained for this.
Adrenaline buzzing in your veins, you pushed yourself up from the floor, power swelling in your chest. Letting it out completely, it charged through your veins until it was spitting sparks in the air, jaws gnashing against the blazing white that threatened to devour it.
One foot forwards.
The white lightning squirmed, as if trying to shake you off. You never relented. Blue advanced steadily from your hands until it was all that could be seen.
Breaking point. You kept up the pressure, feeling the last bit of resistance from the weapon-
Crack.
Upstairs, the fire V had lit was buffeted as if hit by a powerful gust of wind. Disturbed anew, blocks shifted in the rubble, pebbles raining to earth. The opponent Jungkook had been fighting was swept clean from their feet, his golden light harmlessly striking the wall behind the spot where they had just stood.
But as the enemy was forced to the floor, Jungkook’s attention was already elsewhere. Struggling to stay standing through the shockwave, he staggered back a few paces before he could turn towards the fire. The way you had gone.
The ground seemed to settle again, the blast leaving silence in its wake.
The first sound was his feet pounding on the floor. Striding right over the fighters lying on the ground, uncaring whether they were dead or alive, skirting around the fire they had been attempting to cross seconds ago.
None of Bolt’s pathetic followers attempted to stop Jungkook. They couldn’t deny the meaning of that explosion – the thing they were after was destroyed.
Normally, he might stay, try to stop them fleeing. As it was, he didn’t stand between them and their retreat, instead sprinting towards the source of the commotion.
V had kept his guard up, still eyeing the fire for movement with dark eyes. He caught Jungkook’s eyes as the younger stopped in front of him, eyes wide and panicked.
V turned.
Following his gaze, Jungkook found a doorway. Behind the open door was consuming darkness, still and silent.
You were in there.
His feet were moving again, steps turning to strides as he picked up speed, only to nearly trip over himself as he got closer.
You rushed up the stairway, catching yourself on the doorframe. Leaning against it, you panted for breath, but an exhilarated smile never left your features.
As your breathing calmed, you looked around into the car park. Eyes meeting Jungkook’s, you straightened up a little.
His mouth hung slightly agape. He had expected you to crawl from there bleeding, if the shockwave had been anything to go by. And for him to be the one that sent you down there-
“I did it!” you exclaimed.
Blinking rapidly, he clocked how long he must have been staring in shock.
Nodding, he hurriedly shuffled around in pretence of checking the area like V.
“Good. I almost didn’t think you were going to be any help.”
You had no time to decipher his comment before V cast a sharp gaze over the two of you. His usual silence had taken hold again, but Jungkook seemed to understand him.
“We need to move.”
Striding away purposefully, V left you two to scramble after him. Jungkook threw one more skittish glance at you, but quickly turned his eyes away to march after V.
The fire’s heat grew in intensity as you neared, smothering. V waved a hand and a gap opened up, the glaring purple giving way to pure darkness beyond. Hurrying through, you panted gratefully in the cool night air. Even among the rush of your battle downstairs, you felt a bit wobbly from the strain.
Leaving the fire blazing behind you without a care, your trio scaled the wreckage, this side of the building being the main victim of the destruction. The landslide of rubble sloped upwards, your path weaving between motionless figures, slumped in gaps between the debris.
V bent down to scoop up a gun, lifting it easily from a fallen opponent. Their hand fell uselessly back onto the rock.
Jungkook did the same, only he flung the weapons he collected back into the fire behind you. It spat as it guzzled them, but the sound grew fainter as you finally reached the street and hurried away over flat ground.
As the three of you sprinted through the night, the full extent of the battle was spread before you. Scattered around the burning building were pieces of wreckage, but you were sure they couldn’t have been flung that far if it wasn’t for human intervention in the destruction.
You were forced to leap over a large channel where the road had cracked, somehow.
Eerily still after the furore that had been raging only moments ago, your group’s footsteps rang loudly in your ears. Which is why the crunch that echoed through the wasteland stopped you in your tracks.
Whizzing around, you were instantly alert, feeling your powers stir.
But the air left your lungs, relieved by the blur of pink that was coming towards you.
Jimin tossed a mangled car to one side like it was nothing, only focussed on V. They collided, Jimin burying his head in V’s shoulder and desperately clutching him close.
It was only after pulling away that he registered your presence. His eyes flicked between you and Jungkook, a million questions forming in his eyes.
But he left them unsaid.
He started running again, hand clutched in V’s and leading him around the corner. Following, you drew further from the fiery glare in your wake. The shadows grew thicker, your path taking you off that road and further into the city maze.
Wailing met your ears, sirens announcing the likely arrival of authorities at the site of the fight – all too late to stop anything.
Though you were out of sight, you were only a few streets away. Enough to make you feel terribly exposed to the building clamour of sirens. A glance over your shoulder showed the distinct red and blue of emergency vehicles painting the dark sky.
Then you caught sight of something – someone – stepping forwards from the shadows.
Someone with silvery hair and eyes that glowed bright white.
You hadn’t really seen Yoongi use his powers. His eyes were truly striking, but he did little more than breathe and suddenly the world was plunged back into darkness. The colours disappeared from the sky, even the streetlights dying.
“Yoongi!” Jimin exclaimed, changing course to rush towards him, “you’re okay! What happened-?”
“We’re fine,” Yoongi spoke calmly, dazzling eyes scanning the road behind you, “just couldn’t get back- speaking of, where are we getting to now?”
As if summoned, a figure dropped from the now dark streetlamp. No one else could make a landing like that look so easy.
Yellow faded from Hope’s eyes as he faced you, grin splitting his face.
“Namjoon got to Jin alright, they’re on their way. Just saw them.”
Only the crunch of tyres gave away the car that swung around the corner. The headlights had been cut, whether by Yoongi or by Jin, driving, as a precaution. It blended with the shadows, sliding through them to stop smoothly in front of your group, assembled on the pavement.
It wasn’t until a door swung open and Namjoon stood from it that you remembered the fact you weren’t meant to be there.
This far, the adrenaline of the action had driven it from your mind. But the look Namjoon threw at you and Jungkook made reality come crashing back around you. Would he be angry? He was the one who had stood you down after all.
He breathed in evenly, gaze raking painstakingly over you…
“Get in.”
That was all he said, ducking back inside the car without another word.
As always, nothing could be read through his words. Sobered, you looked at the boys around you, waiting for them to pile into the car before you joined them.
Inside, you kept silent. Jimin and Tae were squished together in the back, Hope apparently cheerful beside them. By contrast, in the middle, Yoongi was staring intently out at the passing streets. His irises still glowed white, reflected in the darkened glass of the window. No trace of emergency lights, searchlights or even regular city lights found its way remotely near you.
This left you shoulder to shoulder with Jungkook, a frosty silence stretching between you.
With Yoongi doing his job so well, Jin guided the car silently back home. Namjoon’s calculating eyes scanned the lot of you through the rear mirror occasionally.
All you could do was try valiantly to ignore the firm press of Jungkook’s arm against yours. But it was impossible to drive him from your mind; in a way, this was familiar. His rigid frame, determinedly staring ahead. Anywhere but you.
Then why did it make you feel so small now?
You were well used to this kind of treatment from him, reciprocating it more often than not. So it was totally unfair how he could occupy your thoughts so relentlessly. All you had done was follow his orders. Rushed into battle together, yes. But you reminded yourself that he never wanted you there anyway. You were still just a hindrance to him.
Setting your jaw, you turned your gaze stoically out the window. A lone streetlight travelled past – you must be almost home if Yoongi felt it safe enough to let the light back in.
You had lost them well enough in the dark maze of the centre, and now you could throw them off your trail.
Through the reflections, you eyed the car packed with all of you. It felt right, with everyone there. Dimmed by the window glass, you saw Jimin’s arm slung around V’s shoulder, small smiles on everyone’s faces as he exchanged low jokes with Hobi.
Jin and Namjoon guided you home at the head of the vehicle. Namjoon’s glances were caring instead of cold, checking up on his fellow fighters.
This could have been different. Nerves remained about his decision, what your actions tonight would make him think. But you could rest knowing you had stepped in to help your new family, part of the reason you were all safely in this car now.
These events only bolstered what had been growing within you. These boys were your team.
Every single one.

love love loving the Two Sinners series! Best I’ve read! Keep it up!!
Wondering what would happen if they got one of those remote controlled vibrators that can be controlled by the other one.
Maybe they can’t see each other for a while so reader wears it all day and gets an unexpected surprise at at awkward moment OR Gator inserts it and reader is in control OR they are both at some event in public and are controlling the devices just to fuck with each other.
CHURCH POT LUCK
CHURCH POT LUCK
CHURCH. POT. LUCK.
nsfw below the cut. mdni. <3
you'd seen Gator quickly in the morning, he was on the overnight shift so could visit you before heading home to Glenda. whenever he came to see you at the ass crack of dawn, he'd always have to decency to drop off a black mcdonalds coffee (he always plays it off that he drank a gatorade and couldn't finish it but really it's because he knows that it's your fav cheap takeaway coffee)
he fucks you so soft and slow on mornings like this. you're both exhausted and using all your remaining energy to make the other feel good. he kisses deep into your mouth to swallow your soft whines for him. his breath is hot against your neck, leaving soft bites against your neck; damp with both of your perspiration. "thought about this all fuckin' night long", it's mumbled quietly against your skin. you both smile to yourselves. neither of you last long and usually, Gator would fall asleep wrapped around you for an hour before heading home. but today he's scrabbling off you to get dressed- it's the Church Pot Luck. the event that takes over his home life because Glenda fucking loves it.
he's lost in his thoughts as he shoves his feet into his boots. considering how he won't be able to sleep when he gets home, how Glenda will have him tasting her bland soup for confirmation of how good it was and how his Father would criticise him for not helping enough. a sudden vibration behind his ear pulled him from his thoughts.
"what the fuck is that?" he sounds exasperated, which is not the mood you wanted to go for at all.
"it's a toy for us, to make the pot luck more bearable" you've wrapped your blanket around yourself, deciding that you'll probably stay in bed naked until it's time to get dressed.
Gator shakes his head, "'s always fuckin' somethin' on this day- you're not even a fuckin' part of the church. why do you go? just to make me miserable?". You grin and nod as you press a quick kiss to his cheek. He smiles despite himself.
you drop the blanket and crawl into the middle of the bed, sliding the small but sleek silicone vibrator inside you. that feeling alone has you flustered and you're trying to stifle a moan before you can speak. "it's a remote control vibrator, that pink thing on the table? it controls the vibrations" you drop your voice to sound as subby as possible, "jus' want you to be in control today, Sir". a deep red flush crosses his complexion as he squeezes his hardening cock through his boxers.
"baby, i don't have time for this i gotta go" he heads out as you shout at him if he doesn't want to use it, you'll invite another date instead.
he texts you 15 minutes later, telling you to wear the vibe.
you reply a few hours later as you pull up to the potluck simply saying, do your worst.
***
you sneak into the potluck. you don't want to draw attention to yourself. a few colleagues from work are standing in a corner and wave you over. they hand you a cup of spiked punch that you sip slowly; trying to calm your nerves. you blend into the conversation seamlessly, almost forgetting about the pink toy nestled against your walls.
until it turns on. it's like a lightning bolt.
you'd neglected to mention to Gator that it has a variety of settings. he didn't just have to turn up it to 11. i mean you had told him to do his worse. what makes it worse, is that everyone notices. your friends crowd around you and talk over each other as the vibrations continue, "oh my god are you okay?", "lemme grab you a chair" and "is this your back again?". you reassure them that you're fine and grab another cup of the sickly sweet spiked punch. you try to focus on the false coconut of the malibu rather than how close you're getting to cumming in this church.
then, it stops.
you take the respite to seek out your tormentor. Gator's arm is around Glenda's waist but his eyes are locked on yours. he's smirking at you, your eyes follow his hand into his pocket and you immediately feel the vibrations start again. it feels more intense than before, if you were alone in your room you'd be screaming. you keep staring at Gator as you bite your lip hard enough to draw blood.
he does this agonising routine throughout the event until finally- you have to sneak into the bathroom and make yourself cum. your hand trembles as you pull the lock across, you softly moan as you pull your underwear down your trembling legs whilst the vibrations continue. you try not to look at yourself in the small mirror hanging above the sink. the cool touch of the sink contrasts the burning touch of your body.
you're so close to the edge, that you're finally allowing yourself to be lost in the overwhelming sensation. and then, again, it stops.
you cry out like you're in pain. there's a small knock on the door and you hear Gator's hushed voice tell you to open the door.
once he's in the cramped room with you, he's quick to put his hand around your throat and he takes your damp underwear in his other hand. a chaste kiss is placed against your forehead as he whispers, "'m gonna make you cum now okay baby? but i've gotta put these in your mouth to make sure you stay quiet. such a loud girl for me aren't you?". your nod is desperate as he pushes your panties past your lips, you savour the tangy taste of your own arousal. Gator quickly pulls your tits out of your dress and runs this thumb and forefinger against your pebbled nipples.
you look at his reflection as the vibration starts again. it's all too much, his strong hand around your throat, your own fucked reflection in the mirror, the panties in your mouth, and the changing pressure on your nipples. it hits you so fucking hard and it feels so fucking good. your legs are shaking, and your whole body is quivering as you see Gator smirk in the mirror at the sight before him.
he switches it off once you've come down, he kisses you, and takes the wet panties from your mouth. he mutters a quiet "fuck" as he slips them into his pocket and leaves without saying goodbye.

SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
A blanket of white covered the world, turning everything brighter. The sun reflected off the snow, practically sparkling. You heard the crunch beneath your boots—the sound familiar and inviting. It called to the small fractured piece of joy that still remained in your body; begged you to finally let go and have some fun. Even as the world went to shit, the first snowfall never failed to make you smile.
Your breath collected in the air in front of you. Showing you just how cold it really was. Which only made you smile more—your nose practically numb with the frigid air.
“Fuck,” he muttered, slipping on the heavy gloves that he found in an old shop a few towns back. “It’s too cold.”
You shrugged, taking in a deep breath that burned on its way in. ‘Yeah but…it snowed.”
His eyes narrowed at your overjoyous smile. “It’s a pain in the ass to travel through snow.”
That was true.
Yet you couldn’t find it in yourself to be upset about such a beautiful thing. Snow has always been attuned to joy in your life. The start of fun spent outdoors with your brother. Hot drinks with friends as your university began to set up for the worst. And sure there were the annoyances and hardships that came with this weather. But you had always found that the positives far outweighed the negatives in this case.
Joel couldn’t necessarily say the same. A bitter feeling of grief began to build in his chest—Sarah’s face entering his mind. They spent holidays in the snow. Holed up in the house as they watched a movie—usually a Christmas movie with a predictable script—often inviting Tommy for the night. It was a time he’d give anything to return to.
The weight in his chest pressed down painfully—attempting to drag him down. Back into the darkness he was so used to residing in.
Except something bright broke through its walls. As if sunlight was once again shedding its light over him. Warmth consumed him; offering him hope with a soft press to the agony that splintered him half. Only when he tore himself out his mind did he realize what it was.
The sound of your laughter.
Small flakes began to fall from the sky, catching on his hair and jacket. They stung his face slightly. He couldn’t focus on that though. Not when you were smiling, your bare hands trying to catch each snowflake—your tongue sticking out. For the first time he saw a childlike wonder in your eyes. The cloud of grief he’d grown so accustomed to—now dissipated as you played in the snow.
“Havin’ fun?” he asked as his lips pulled up at one side.
You laughed again and Joel felt a bolt of lightning go through his heart. Even though it was freezing outside, that warmth spilled into his chest, spreading out to the tips of his fingers. He understood what love felt like. How it affected a person, but this…this was more. This was the missing emotion he thought he’d never see again in this lifetime.
“As a matter of fact—I am having fun.”
You stepped closer to him, letting your freezing nose press against the hollow of his throat. He jolted, eliciting another small giggle from your lips. But he refused to move. Simply shifting slightly to open his jacket in order to pull you closer until his body heat seeped into yours. He wrapped his arms around you, tugging you until your feet were pressed between his.
“Gonna get sick,” he muttered under his breath.
A puff of cold breath left you, caressing against his skin and sending a shiver down his spine. “C’mon Joel, it’s fun.”
“Boston—”
“Don’t you remember fun?”
He stiffened, hands frozen on your back. Only this time you didn’t immediately apologize for possibly saying the wrong thing. You remained silent. Gave him a chance to process the pain that was no doubt overtaking his body, a grief you would never be able to understand. Each of you carried your own demons—dragged down by the weight of them daily, and only for a brief moment did you see him allow them to lift.
“I do,” he replied, his voice thick with torment.
You shut your eyes, ran your hands up his back and let out a breath. “Tell me about it.”
Tell me about your past. Tell me about her.
Joel rarely mentioned anything when it came to his past. That continued to be a locked door you held no key to and you accepted that. You took what you could with him. But standing there in the middle of a snowy serene winter, you finally wanted to see each broken part he hid from you. You wanted to watch the sunlight glint off them like glass and catch their beauty in the palm of your hands.
You wanted to know him.
“We’d celebrate Christmas,” he said softly, lips pressed to your hair. “Nothin’ fancy. Nothin’ big. But we’d get a tree.”
He never told you who Sarah was to him, never revealed what happened to her. You were just happy to finally hear about something joyous in his life. That once upon a time…he might have smiled. Hell he might have even laughed often. You could tell by the lines around his eyes, proof that this man had experienced more than just this.
“In Texas?” you pressed, face peeking up to see his gaze already on you.
He nodded. “My brother usually joined us.”
Surprise lingered in your body, but you pushed past it. “You never told me you had a brother.”
And there it was, that small hint of a smile showing through the heartbreak on his face. “Yeah…Tommy.”
You tried to conjure up a picture of the other Miller. Did he have brown eyes like Joel? Was he older or younger? Was he still alive? Something told you with the way Joel reacted simply by saying the man’s name, that he remained okay. That somewhere on this Earth he was alive. You wanted to ask more, see if he’d let you in on a life you were never meant to be a part of. But pressing Joel to do anything—especially talking about his past—was not something that would go over easily.
“Did you play in the snow?” you asked, a smirk pulled at your lips.
He sighed, glancing up at the sky, a soft red stain flushing across his face. “We did.”
“I knew it.”
“Shut up,” he mumbled, fingers pinching at your hip. Only to feel his heart flutter at the echo of your laugh being pressed to his chest.
He swore his heart responded to the sound, twisting in a way that he didn’t know was possible. It wasn’t wracked with pain, it wasn't threatening to drown him beneath his grief. It simply just existed.
Perhaps that’s what he could do for this one moment.
Stand in the snow as a man, holding a woman he loved, and exist.
“Hey Texas.”
He ran a soothing hand up your back, fingers lightly tracing the hem of your jacket. “Hm?”
“Will you play in the snow with me?”
Something lit up his eyes, the brown suddenly a lighter gold that struck a chord in your heart. He played you like a fucking guitar and with that one look, you’d let him. Joel took a breath, mouth parting, and did the one thing you longed to see. He smiled. Nothing small or minor, but a full blown smile that made your heartbeat cease to exist. For the first time…he looked happy. As if the man from before had shoved his way forward to finally give you a proper look at who he once was.
At the man he longed to be again.
“Yeah Boston,” he said, leaning forward to brush his lips against yours. “I will.”
A laugh escaped your mouth when he shoved you back lightly, hands reaching for the freshly fallen snow on the ground. You did the same. Digging your fingers into the freezing icy ground, pulling up a small amount to make a ball. Only for Joel to throw one at you, hitting you square in the shoulder.
“I wasn’t ready!”
He chuckled, heading for you. “Move faster.”
“Ironic you’re telling me that.” He stuttered, eyes flashing dark at the memory of having you the day before, but that faded with another grin. One that taunted you with something more.
A promise of a life that could be.
His arm wrapped around your waist, the snow falling from your hands as he hauled you backwards. A yelp escaped your mouth when he fell, your body landing on top of his—snow sticking to his hair and yours. The sun still burned bright in the sky, flakes continued to rain down around you, but for this one single moment…you existed in a space that felt good.
That felt normal.
“We’ll have a tree,” you said softly, rolling over to lay beside him.
He turned to look at you, eyes tender. “A tree huh?”
You nodded. “One day.”
“Okay,” he murmured, hand cupping your cheek. “We’ll have a tree.”

The Giant (1/16)
Tumblr media
A giant/ tiny vore romance fantasy about a tiny woman that finds herself trapped in the clutches of a very large, hungry giant.
Total Word Count: 44,030
This is the first full story I ever wrote, and I didn't write it initially with the intention of sharing it, so it's a bit rough around the edges. It's also very bizarre and cringe, but if the idea of being eaten alive by a hot giant man titillates you, you'll probably enjoy it. If you decide to give it a chance at least read to chapter 3 because that's when the good stuff starts (lol).
This story contains tons of vore, mouthplay, fluff, some violence, and some sexual content.
------ Chapter 1 ------
The storm was terrible. My car practically swam through the rain. The windshield wipers, despite their frantic swiping, failed to make a dent in the deluge. Occasionally a flash of lightning lit up the black storm clouds, followed by rolling thunder. Even though the sun had just begun to set, the sky was already dark as night. I sighed and glanced at my cell phone. Still no service. I was driving through the middle of nowhere and had a long way to go. With the weather this bad, I wasn’t making much headway. Even with no other cars on the road I had to drive slowly due to low visibility.
Just as I considered pulling over and finding a motel, a bolt of lightning shot out of the sky and slammed into my car. The suddenness of the event caused me to swerve off the road as I was momentarily startled by the loud explosion and blinded by the bright flash. My car rolled down a long, steep embankment, crashed into something, and everything went dark. I sat for a moment in shock, listening to the pouring rain. Tried to start my car. Nothing but smoke. Tried again. Nothing. The lightning bolt had fried the electronics. Great.
I sat for a moment, pondering what to do. I couldn’t call anyone without cell service. I certainly didn’t want to go out in the rain, but staying in the car was not exactly a viable option either. The windshield was broken, allowing rain and cold to seep into the car. Waiting here would not solve my problems. My car needed to be towed and repaired. If I got lucky and followed the road I might be able to hitch a ride from a passing motorist. Resigned, I grabbed my raincoat, phone, and flashlight and stepped out into the rain.
I started to trudge through the mud toward where I assumed the road would be. My car had slid down pretty far into the tall weeds. The vegetation here was odd, like grass but the blades were thick and came up to my chest. I stepped over a few fallen tree limbs on my way up the hill. When I finally reached the top I stopped, confused. The road was gone. I tried looking around with my flashlight but the terrain was completely different, just more mud and that weird tall grass. What the hell was going on? I turned and shined my flashlight toward my car at the bottom of the hill. The way it had rolled, the road would have to be here. Maybe the car had slid farther than I thought? I continued walking in the only possible direction the car could have come from.
The rain continued to pour in huge fat drops splashing all over, obscuring my vision even with my flashlight. Not to mention the night seemed to have gotten even darker, except for the sporadic flash of lightning. I walked past a large boulder, another tree limb, large wet puddles. A deep consternation began to well up inside of me. None of this was right. I should have reached the road by now. Unexpectedly, I stepped on something crunchy and looked down. The sight gave me pause. I had stepped on a leaf--but this was no ordinary leaf. The leaf was bigger than my entire body. I pondered this mystery for a moment and looked around. What about the trees? I hadn’t noticed before because of the darkness that I hadn’t seen any trees, but now I could just make out massive silhouettes spaced out around me in the gloom. If those were trees, they were the biggest trees I had ever seen in my life. Forgetting about the road for a moment, I waded through the muck towards one of the large shadows to get a closer look.
I didn’t think that redwoods were native to this area--hell, I hadn’t seen any on my drive over--so naturally I was curious. Finally, I got close enough that my flashlight could shine a light on one of the huge shadows. Except what I saw wasn’t a tree, rather than bark it was a smooth brown texture, almost like leather. I felt the rounded surface with my bare hand. Whatever it was, it was not a naturally occurring structure, but rather man-made. As I shined my light over more the mystery object I felt a jolt of shock as I recognized the details. I was touching the toe of a gigantic boot that was easily the size of a school bus. And the boot was not alone. I slowly raised my flashlight up to illuminate cloth pants, a towering leg, and the colossal shape of a man so gargantuan the light beam could not reach high enough to illuminate his whole being.
My blood ran cold and I froze in place, unable to make the slightest movement. Had the giant seen me? I was so miniscule compared to his massive size. He towered over me like a skyscraper. A crash of lightning flashed across the sky, and for just a moment the colossus was fully visible. He was staring directly down at me from a terrifying height. At that moment my heart jumped into my throat and I turned to run as fast as I could. Despite my panicked efforts the mud sucked at my shoes and I could not run very fast at all. I blindly sprinted into a puddle and started treading water frantically, adrenaline coursing through my veins. In my haste I dropped my flashlight and one of my legs got tangled in some roots. I cried out in fear and struggled to free myself. Before I could escape an enormous hand plunged into the water all around me and scooped me up with ease. I couldn’t help letting out a squeak of panic as huge strong fingers thicker than my torso closed around my body, pinning my arms to my sides.
I was then lifted up what felt like hundreds of feet into the air as the giant straightened to his full height. I felt dizzy and disoriented. Another bolt of lightning revealed a huge human face with intelligent eyes closely scrutinizing my tiny form. I could only imagine what he was thinking. I must’ve looked pathetic--drenched in water, shaking uncontrollably, like a drowned rat. Hopefully I didn’t look tasty to him. I felt a wave of nausea at the horrible thought that I could easily fit inside his mouth. He could probably swallow me whole without even chewing. I started to cry tears and squirmed in his iron grip, knowing all the well how futile my actions were.
After staring at me for a long, agonizing moment, the giant opened the lapel of his coat and gently placed me underneath it against his vast chest, as if to shelter me from the rain. This action was the last thing that I had expected but it wasn’t entirely unwelcome. Finally, I wasn’t being pelted by pouring rain; his shirt was thankfully dry, his body soft and warm. I could hear the slow, rhythmic beating of his massive heart, so different from the frantic knocking of my own. His chest rose and fell with steady gusts of breath from immense lungs. Despite my fear the sensations were strangely soothing. The titanic wall of flesh I was pressed against began to move as the giant walked forward with powerful strides. I shivered and curled up as best I could to get comfortable.
I felt confused, frightened, and exhausted. I was powerless to move or try to escape. What was going to happen to me? I could only speculate. Would I be gutted like a fish? Dismembered in a gory mess, my limbs torn off one by one? Dropped in a pan of sizzling oil and boiled alive? Or perhaps eaten raw, savored on the tongue like a piece of candy before being sucked down a dark gullet and dumped into his cavernous stomach still alive? As brutal as my imagination was, it was the last thought that made me shudder in particular. I collapsed inward on myself and wept until I was completely drained and lost consciousness.

❤𝘕𝘪-𝘬𝘪 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯... 𝘛𝘸𝘰 𝘱𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘴❤ ☽𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘳𝘦: 𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘧𝘧☾ ☽𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴: 𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘱☾
The storm outside your house turned the sky into a dark curtain. Only the light of a few lightning bolts helped you distinguish, from time to time, the shadow of a lost tree.
However, inside the comfort of your couch and the warmth of a blanket, you barely noticed all this. Your only activity for the last half an hour had consisted in watching videos of Enhypen's recent fanmeeting. Well, maybe we need to specify this. Your only activity had been watching non stoping that video of Ni-ki playing with one of the staff's dog, holding it and caressing his head as if it was the most precious thing ever. But, who could blame you? You were absolutely right when you said that it was THE cutest video on the internet.
-And then he says he's not a cutie- you mumbled, playing the video again.
However, watching all that made you remember that, a while ago, Ni-ki told you that he wanted to raise a puppy on his own.
-I think I would be good at taking care of a puppy, don't you think?- he asked you one day.
-I'm sure you would, Ni-ki. But didn't you have a rule about not having any pets at your dorms?- you said.
-Yeah... I wish I could do something about it...
But after some time, he had stopped talking about it, and you thought the boy had already forgotten about the puppy.
You couldn't be more wrong.
[...]
When the door's bell rang, you knew that only one person could be behind that door.
-Surprise...- Ni-ki greeted you with a shy smile when you opened the door.
He was completely soaked, his eyes covered by his wet hair, not to mention his trembling body due to the freezing temperature.
You had to hide a smile at the thought of him looking like a wet puppy who had returned from playing in the rain.
-You should stop coming to my house in the middle of the night- you said instead- It's dangerous, you could get lost or something worse.
However, you opened the door completely to let him in.
Only when Ni-ki was already in your living room, you noticed something he was carrying with him. It was covered by what looked like a blanket, or maybe a jacket.
-I guess those aren't snacks, am I wrong?
-Not really...
He hadn't finished saying that when whatever he was carrying started to... bark.
-Oh no- you said- Oh my god Ni-ki, please tell me that it's not a dog.
The boy looked down at the puppy that had just popped his head out of his embrace. It was a little ball of fur, white, with shiny eyes and fluffy tail.
-I can explain, I promise- he started, panicking a bit- I was going back to our dorms when I saw him. He was lost, wet and looked hungry. When I came closer he jumped into my arms. I don't think he's dangerous or aggressive, he just needs a home...
-But Ni-ki, I can't have animals here, the lady that rents me the apartment would kick me out.
-I know, I know, but I can't have pets neither, and he looked so alone... Please, only for tonight.
You looked at the boy, at the way he was holding the puppy with so much care as if he was willing to protect him at all costs, and then at the dog, who was happily wagging his tail.
You sighed, knowing that the promise you two were about to make wasn't going to last.
-Okey, but only for tonight.
-Yes! Oh my gosh, thank you so much, Y/N, you're the best- Ni-ki said with shiny eyes before hugging you.
-I know- you laughed. And then, looking at the puppy, you added - So, where should we start?
-A bath, I think, he kinda stinks- Ni-ki said.
-Yeah, you're right. Would you mind taking him to the bathroom while I search for a towel we could use? And I think I have some dog's champu, don't ask me why.
The boy nodded and headed to the bathroom.
While you were searching for the things you needed, you heard Ni-ki talking to the puppy with the sweetest voice, and you had to make a big effort to not melt right there.
-Don't worry, buddy-he was saying- You are in good hands now.
When you finally arrived, Ni-ki had already put the puppy in the shower.
-Let's get started then- you said.
But when you tried to approach the dog, he growled at you, showing his teeths.
-No no no, buddy, she's not gonna hurt you- Ni-ki instantly said- Look, she's a good person.
And without leaving you time to react, he hugged you. Thank god he didn't see you becoming a blushing mess.
-See, nothing to worry about.
The dog tilted his head, and after some seconds, he leaned near your hand, as if he was asking for pettings.
-Good boy- you smiled- And now, let's gonna give you a bath, ok?
[...]
-He looks so cute- Ni-ki mumbled when you rolled up the dog into the towel- He looks like a burrito.
The puppy leaned his face near the boy's one and bumped his nose into Ni-ki's cheek. A smile spread on his face.
-Now that he is already clean, you should take a bath- you told the boy- And change into dry clothes. I don't want you to catch a cold.
-I guess you're right. I'll be back soon, ok buddy?- he caressed his head gently- Oh, and if his hungry, I bought dog food, you know, just in case.
After saying that, the boy disappeared and you headed to the kitchen with the puppy following your footsteps. As Ni-ki had said, near the wet jacket he had used to bring the dog you saw a can of food. The puppy waited calmly while you were searching for a bowl and when you finally poured the food into it, he jumped in excitement.
-There you go, buddy.
And you couldn't help but smile.
[...]
You could hear Ni-ki's laugh from the leaving room, where he was playing with the puppy. It was almost 3am, but you could tell he hadn't noticed that.
From the kitchen's door, you watched them, and for a second, you felt as if you were in one of those films where the boy meets the dog that will become his best friend. Ni-ki was laying down, and the puppy was running around him. You could clearly feel the happiness that both of them irradiated.
-They really look as if the were ment to each other- you thought to yourself.
After some seconds, you returned to what you were doing: preparing something hot for the two of you. While the hot chocolate was getting ready, you realised the sudden silence that came from the leaving room.
That could only mean one thing.
-Ni-ki-?- you asked, entering with the two mugs of chocolate.
But only the puppy lifted his head. The boy was completely asleep, his chest slowly moving up and down, and a small smile spread on his face.
That sight made your heart melt.
Leaving the mugs on the table, you took a blanket and, carefully, tucked the boy in, leaving a small peck on his forehead. Then, you sat on the floor.
The puppy looked at you, and then, slowly, started approaching. You stayed still, and when he realised that there was nothing to fear, he jumped to your arms.
-You are such a cute ball of fluff- you smiled, petting him.
The dog looked at you with shiny eyes, and then he looked at Ni-ki. Getting out of your embrace, he snuggled next to him.
-You really like him, right?- you asked- I wished I could do something to keep you here, Ni-ki looked so happy when he was with you... He really wanted a puppy, you know? I think it's because it reminds him of when he was in Japan. We use to like things that remind us about times when we were happy.
However, you new that you had to take him the next day to an animal shelter.
You wished you didn't have to.
[...]
When Ni-ki arrived to your house the next day, he had a sad look. The living room seemed different without the puppy running around.
-It's amazing how much you can love someone you had just met, right?- you asked him.
-Yeah...
And then, doing a big effort, he asked what had worrying him since last night.
-Did they accept the dog at the shelter?
You could tell his heart was breaking by the look of his eyes.
-Well, I didn't take him to the shelter. I wanted to make sure that he hadn't any kind of chip that could tell us if he had already a home.
-And... He had one?
-Actually... yes, he had already a home.
And you handed him a piece of paper.
Tears were already forming in his eyes when the boy took it. But when he read the address of the owner... He noticed that something was wrong.
-Y/N... This is your address.
But that wasn't all. At the space where the owner's name was written, he could read his own name.
-What does... Why is...
You smiled at his confused face.
-The dog had already an owner, Ni-ki. You. He hadn't any chip, what meant that he didn't have a home. But I new that he had already found his boy. You are his boy.
And at that moment, the puppy, that had been hidden at the kitchen, ran to Ni-ki's arms.
-Tell me this is not a dream, please Y/N-was the only thing he could say before hugging the dog.
-Don't worry, it's not- you laughed.
-You are the best, seriously. I don't know how to thank you this.
But the smile on his face and the way he looked at the puppy were more than enough for you.
-There's only one thing he needs now. How are you going to call him?
-Lucky- he said.
You smiled, and thought that, from that moment, you were going to have two puppies.
Author's note:
Hi everyone! Here you have a new post. Just wanted to say that, about the crochet doll, someone really wise told me in the comments that I should do what my heart tells me, and right now, he really wants to start that blog. So get ready for it! (little reminder that the doll it's not perfect, and maybe it doesn't looks exactly like Ni-ki, but I tried my best ^^)
Anyway, that was all.

See No ****, Hear No ****
Achilles/Patroclus, Achilles & Patroclus/Nameless Exalted Shades | E | PWP | Rope Bondage | Sensory Deprivation | Voyeurism | 6k
Summary:
One deprived of sight, the other deprived of hearing — Achilles and Patroclus are still able to revel in the ecstasy of one another.
Each chapter is the same scene from each point of view, experienced very differently.
This fic was written for a gift exchange event organized by the Hades Lounge Discord (@thehadeslounge), as a gift for the amazing Hound, who I was so honored to write for <3
The inspiration for this one hit me like a lightning bolt in the middle of the night one night when I couldn’t sleep. Just the whole, “I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world” from TSOA taken to the horniest extreme possible, LMAO. I had a genuine blast writing this one from start to finish so I hope all of you enjoy it too <3
Excerpt:
At first, it is like the moment he died. A dark abyss, the absence of thought.
There is feeling in the darkness however, coming into relief gradually—his limbs sing with the ache from a pleasure-laced bite of a rope, holding him up like the long, weaving sinews that tether the immortal soul to a mortal life. His arms, he finds with a flex of his muscles, are bound tightly behind his back. The bindings weave down from his neck and chest, down to his hips; and then further below, where his calf hugs against the corded flesh of his upper thigh. He feels as if he is kneeling upright upon a cloud, suspended in the air. He struggles against the rope with an experimental fussing—the weight of his dangling body sways slightly from the momentum it creates.
His blood begins to stir at the feeling of such helplessness. But there is also something else he would like to assess.
“Patroclus,” Achilles calls out into the void.
There is no answer. Ah.
“Patroclus!” He calls out again. He remains calm in spite of the silence, quickly banishing away the thought that he will not be able to find him amongst this isolation.
And then.
“Achilles… are you calling for me? I am here.”
The inflection of Patroclus’ voice is strange—slow and stilted and deliberate, as if he were relearning how to speak. It is also overly loud, despite the fact that Achilles can tell from the position of the sound vibrating in Patroclus’ throat that he is, in fact, quite near.
Achilles finds that the rest of his senses are sharper while deprived of his sight. He realizes he can feel the warmth of Patroclus’ whole soul emanating from him. He can hear the subtle, quickened catch of his ghostly breaths. He is musky and hot, and the smell of his arousal is sweet and sharp in Achilles’ nose.
“There you are, love,” Achilles says gently. “I hope you are doing alright.” Once again, he does not receive an answer, but Achilles had expected it this time, and does not worry. He knows that he cannot be heard.

short fluffy IndiBama thing but I'm embarrassed about it under the cut (I use she/her for Indy cause I can)
Alabama had been tossing and turning for hours. He was used to humidity but it seemed worse tonight, not aided by the fact that it was still boiling even in the middle of the night, and no matter what he tried mosquitoes, flies, and heck even lightning bugs kept getting in. He had watched the minutes tick by on his alarm clock, not being able to get any sort of rest til almost two am. Even then it was barely sleep, more a weird in between, exhausted and conscious enough of the time he had to be up to 'sleep', but uncomfortable enough to stay asleep for more than a couple minutes.
Around three he sat bolt upright, the steps coming down the hallway at this hour initially scaring him. Alabama, along with the rest of the south, groaned realizing it was just Florida and Louisiana stumbling in like they did almost every weekend night. Those two really were the worst when it came to being quiet. Texas would grumble about how he was going to give them the what-for one day but it had yet to happen as he was the only one who could actually sleep through them coming in.
After ten minutes of trying to get back to sleep he finally gave up. He got up groping around in the dark before finding the basketball shorts and t-shirt he had initially gone to bed in. He put both back on, along with a pair of--probably mismatched--socks, usually he wouldn't bother but the floors of the upper floors were always so chilly even in summer. He also pulled a sweatshirt out of his closet, but tucked that under his arm, it wasn't for him. It was a peace offering for the person he was about to wake up.
He could teleport, but Gov always seemed to know when they did that and the last thing he felt like explaining was why he was up and about this late. So instead he climbed the two sets of stairs. The first landing he held his breath trying not to make any noise, not because the Northeast was easy to wake up but because New York didn't sleep. He made it past and up to the third floor, really why did the South have to be on the first floor? It just meant they had to climb more stairs than any other states.
As soon as Alabama stepped off the landing he felt better, it was still warm but less 90s and more low 70s. The humidity was bearable up here as well, still more than some places--he had got caught in Nebraska talking about how corn sweats or something like that to know why--but better then the majority of the South. He stuck his head down the hall that led to the kitchen and living room to make sure no one was up before tiptoeing down the hall where the bedrooms were.
Gladly the one he needed to get to was only the second door down the hall, he took a breath knocking lightly and praying no one else heard. He waited a long moment before knocking again, this time the door opening just a crack Indiana peering out;
"Hey sweetheart" he half whispered,
"'Bama?" she squinted, yawning "what are you doing up here?"
"I couldn't sleep, was wonderin' if I could crash here for the rest of the night" Indy very rarely got mad about much, but he had never woken her up at half past three am either. So he couldn't say he would be surprised if she told him no.
Lucky for him she just nodded, opening the door the rest of the way for him to come in. The door closed behind him, she sat down on the edge of her bed, rubbing her eyes. "why couldn't you sleep?"
"Too muggy in my room, and Florida and Loui woke me up" She nodded humming, wasn't the first time he had complained about those two waking him up. Alabama tossed Indiana the sweatshirt, not needing to tell her what it was for a look of pleasant surprise to cut through her still half asleep features as she pulled it on, putting the hood up immediately. He knew it would be months before he saw that sweatshirt again; Indy was the top sweatshirt thief in the statehouse, her most infamous one being a colts sweatshirt she stole from Maryland just a couple months before before actually stealing the colts all together.
She had climbed back under her quilt, patting the other side of the bed to tell him to hurry up. He pulled off his shirt, tossing it over the back of a chair and climbed in bed, turning off the lamp and flicking on the night light. The first couple times he had slept over he had thought it silly that she had a night light, the only answer he was able to get about why was a mumbled fun fact about being able to see the Chicago lights from the Indiana dunes 60 miles away. Now turning it on was basically muscle memory, even if she said he didn't have to turn it on if it bothered him.
They usually talked while falling asleep, he assumed not tonight with it being so late as is but as Indy settled into his arms she asked through another yawn "Are you doing anything tomorrow?"
Despite the fact that he could already feel himself finally relaxing he responded, "Just a meeting with Gov, what 'bout you sweetheart?"
"I have to sneak my boyfriend out before Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan wake up" Alabama tried not to laugh too loudly, even though he knew she was close to dead serious. They usually didn't mind him being there... as long as they knew beforehand.
"Best savor our time together then case we oversleep and I'm dead come mornin'' Indy just pressed herself closer to him, barely nodding more or less fast asleep again.
Alabama relaxed the west of the way, really he should have just come up when he first realized he wasn't going to be able to sleep in his room. He was warm again, but this time because he was under a pile of blankets with his girlfriend in his arms. This was definitely much better then the 98% humidity.

CSOW DAY 4: TRAGEDY
⚠️TW: BLOOD/GUNS⚠️
Tumblr media
The Bad Caper
NOTE: THIS WAS WHEN THE CURRENT CHIEF WASN’T CHIEF YET, SO ACME HAD DIFFERENT POLICIES AND YES, THEY WERE VIOLENT AND USED LETHAL WEAPONS.
LOCATION: Louvre Museum, Paris, France
TIME: 1:39am
It happened so fast. As they froze, the world kept spinning. They just stood there, in front of the ACME agents that shot them. It was the middle of the night outside of the Louvre Museum, and Deathbeat didn’t answer the voices in their comms. There was an outrageous amount of blood running down their face and suit. It shined under the moonlight that illuminated the area. They didn’t feel the gashes above their eye, and they made not even one sound. All they could taste was their iron-rich blood all over the right side of their face.
Part of Deathbeat’s team had the painting, and the other half of the team was looking for Deathbeat. Then, they found them facing multiple ACME agents. In the split second that the agents blinked, Deathbeat struck one in the diaphragm and the other in the head, knocking the one unconscious. The other agent was stunted from breathing for a few seconds, but recovered swiftly and landed a punch to Deathbeat’s face with brass knuckles. Their eyes watered and their gashes were even bigger, and a couple seconds after that his nose started gushing blood too. Deathbeat took the agent and threw him onto the ground, knocking him unconscious as well. More agents came to take them down.
Deathbeat started getting angry, then angrier, then they stopped. When they stopped, the ACME agents didn’t. They ran up on Deathbeat, and then they were struck with pure agony.
Deathbeat’s eyes had glown purple, and so had their veins. They were so bright it looked like a lightning strike during a thunderstorm. They bolted past 2 acme agents, took two of their handguns, spun back and shot each remaining agent. Every agent was on the ground, and so was their blood. Deathbeat made sure each one was dead and then attempted to run..
In just a second, Deathbeat was on the ground, unable to look anywhere without being completely dizzy. They could not move, and they could not hear anyone screaming for him as they fell unconscious onto the ground.
LOCATION: VILE Academy Infirmary, ???
TIME: 12:13pm
Deathbeat woke up and looked around. The calm green and white room was quiet with only frequent beeps from a heart monitor disturbing the silence. They looked at their IV injected wrist, it hurt to move it around. For a second they thought they had went blind in the eye the gashes had been ripped open, but they were bandages. A pain seared through their leg as they tried to sit up.
Shit, they forgot they got shot too. They let out a yelp, and then Bellum was in the room not even 10 seconds later.
“Oh good, your up.” She said.
“Part of me wishes I didn’t” Deathbeat groaned
“How long am I going to be here for?” They said as they frowned. Bellum also frowned at the question herself.
“…at least a month and a half”
Deathbeat groaned even more at that. They crashed out a little too hard last night and now they were going to have to try to endure a painful recovery, maybe some shit talking from their team, Brunt comforting them like she did with Blacksheep, and of course- The boredom of living in an infirmary room without doing jack shit.
Bellum walked out.
“Brunt’s gonna kill me” Deathbeat muttered.

As promised: pt 2 of my Javey fic (I put a bit more than last time!) part 1 is here
David woke up in his bed to the sounds of knocking on his window. It was storming wildly outside, huge bolts of lighting and claps of thunder that lit the whole bedroom. Davey rubbed his eyes awake, checking if Les was awake. It seemed he’d already gone to stay with their parents for the night. It wasn't the loud thunder Les was afraid of. It was the sheer force of the wind and rain against the house. Davey didn’t blame him. The storm was the worst they’d seen for a while, especially in the city. He just hoped it stopped by tomorrow, so the newsies didn’t have to worry about being electrocuted or drowned on land.
That’s when he heard it again, frantic knocking coming from his window, followed by a muffled voice saying something he couldn't hear over the water pouring down. He rushed over to his window just as another bolt of lightning struck, illuminating the familiar silhouette of a hat. Jack? Here? At this hour? Davey hurriedly forced the window open, letting a soaked Jack tumble through the window to splat on the floor in a cold, wet heap.
“What are you doing? Running around New York at this hour of night? And in this storm-Jack what were you thinking?”
“I try not ta think too hard about most things, but I was mostly focused on tryin not ta drown while runnin.”
“Are you okay? I know you live with Crutchie. Is everything okay with him? He's not hurt?”
“Nah. Crutchie’s fine. His damn leg told him it was gonna storm, so he beat me to the lodging house, along with every otha’ newsie in Manhattan.”
Davey held out hand to the soggy Jack, who was still laying on the floor shivering from the cold. Jack looked at his hand questioningly for a moment, then accepted the other boy’s offer.
“Look Davey, I'm real sorry I came to your house in the middle of the night. It was a real stupid idea, and I can leave if you want me gone. I was hopin that you were awake, with all this thunder and all, but I can tell you weren't. Im sorry”
Davey looked up into Jack’s face, shocked. “Jack, you know you're always welcome here, middle of the night or otherwise!” He looked Jack up and down, then tapped his chin in thought. “Let's get you something dry to wear, and then find you somewhere to sleep, yeah?”
Jack was in the Jacobs bathroom, changing out of his soaked clothes into a shirt of Davey’s, and some thick socks. He was much warmer now than he was when he fell through the window. He still felt terrible for waking Davey up, however surprised he was that Les was still sleeping. Jack opened the door, and padded back to the boy’s bedroom. Davey was sitting on the edge of the bed, eyebrows furrowed in frustration. When Jack stood in the doorway awkwardly, he beckoned him into the room.
"Where's Les?” Jack asked, as he looked around the room taking in the coziness of it all. There were stacks of books everywhere, most likely Davey's doing, along with stuffed animals and small shirts, which was definitely all Les.
“He's sleeping with my parents for the night. He doesn't like the sound of the wind.”
Jack nodded, and sat down next to the blue-eyed boy. Davey looked absolutely exhausted, and his usually tidy curls were a mess.
“Alright, Dave, what's the plan? I don't want to keep you up any longer. No offense, you look like death.”
Davey shoved Jack’s shoulder playfully, then looked at the floor nervously. “I don't know how my folks would take knowing you came here in the middle of the night, so I think the only place my parents won't find you before either of us wakes up is here. You can take Les’ side of the bed. If you want.”
Jack was too tired to argue. And besides, newsies shared beds all the time. It was one of the problems with not having enough room in a small building for a bunch of rowdy teen boys.
“Sounds great, Dave,” Jack said as he rested his head on the other boy’s shoulder. He seemed to tense, then relax under Jack’s cheek.
“You do need to get off of me if we're going to get any sleep, you know.”
Jack groaned, then lifted himself shakily off of his friend. The two boys settled into bed next to each other, both staring at Davey’s ceiling.
I’m so sorry if this one was a bit long… but there’s more! Again let me know if you want to read it

Janus Estuaries Vol. 3, 1.21.24 “Rainspotting"
Out past the grocery market Middle of the field Hoping for a lightning bolt – Zeus! Or is the rain alone the domain of Poseidon? Give me a mystery with less hesitation Not even the hostess can seat me Let alone greet me As they too are snobbily assessing the skies Give us a sprinkle or misting Something off of the menu couture A hale winter storm Full of sleet or of hail With the wind roaring loud as it wails Out of reach of my car My umbrella too far As the rain, spotted rain! Crashes down Not one single bolt Not a sizzle nor crack Seems to bless me On this chilly threshold Precipice to precipitation One so highly anticipated Galloping, galloping, I can’t err No mistake to be made in the rain It is plain that it's over too soon With a lion-dubbed roar With dinner and din Not a mist or a sprinkle or drizzle Just shy of deluge Not to greatly misuse As slowly it came How quickly it left Like a lover Or waiter – night’s end

Digital Teardrops ( Techno but also not )
Zane was acting weird.
They were always weird, in a way, but this was different. Zane was distant, even from PIXAL. Actually, PIXAL had also been acting weird. His weird bit wasn’t very long, as he went back to his normal self after a few days. The Nindroid would say as little as possible to their teammates. Interact as little as possible. The only person they did seem to talk to at all was Lloyd, and even the green ninja didn’t get them to talk very much.
One night, everything changed. It was a Friday evening, which meant Kai was cooking and Cole was doing the dishes. Kai had made a plan to try and get Zane to talk, and he put it to action that night. “ Kay, I finished dinner! “ Kai yelled, which basically summoned the whole team. Kai had made peanut butter noodles with snow peas and carrots. “ It smells amazing! “ Nya exclaimed. Everyone else agreed as they all sat down.
Zane sat in their usual spot in-between Jay and Cole. As usual for the last few weeks, Zane didn’t speak unless they were being talked to directly. All was normal, and Kai’s plan was in action. He, for almost all of dinner, tried to continuously talk to Zane directly, as that was the only way they would talk. It was casual talk. Nothing out of the ordinary there, until after dinner was over. Everyone went to their rooms and eventually fell asleep.
Except for Zane.
They just couldn’t. The reason they had been acting weird was because they were afraid. Afraid of their element, afraid of their thoughts, afraid of themself. They hated being left alone with their thoughts because they were afraid of what they had done when they were the Ice Emperor. They had hurt so, so many people. Ended so many innocent lives. Lives that Vex made them end because they were in his way. Zane got off of their bed and opened their window. The stars in the sky danced around the moon. This far away from the city, Zane was able to actually see them.
They were always there for the others.
When Kai broke down about his parents, or when Cole became a ghost, Lloyd when he was forced to age and become the chosen on to save the world, and Jay and Nya about the erased timeline. These are just a few examples. Zane was always there when the others showed vulnerability and tears, but they had never shown anyone else their vulnerable side. Even PIXAL has been vulnerable around them, but he had never seen them like that before, even when he lived in their head.
It wasn’t like they didn’t want to ask for help, but they just felt like it wasn’t worth the trouble. “ Hey, Zane? “ Were they hearing things? “ Zane! Hey! “ Nope. Zane turned around, and there in the doorway stood Jay. Their blue boyfriend had his curly hair down rather than in a ponytail, which made it reach all the way to the middle of his back, he wore blue pajamas with white lightning bolts and yellow smiley faces. He walked over to the white ninja, who was very much taller than him. “ Jay, it’s late. Go back to sleep. “ Zane said. “ No! “ Jay cupped their cold, metal face in his hands. “ Not until you tell me what’s wrong! You’ve been not talking and acting really weird for weeks! Please, Snowball, what’s going on? “
Zane shook their head. “ I’m alright. Now please, go get rest. We have training tomorrow. “ They replied. They weren’t lying, the ninja did have training the next morning. “ Zane. Seriously, what’s wrong? You know you can talk to me, right? “ Jay asked. Tears threated to escape Zane’s eyes, and sobs attempted to escape their throat. At first, they kept it down, but after a while, they pulled Jay into a hug and cried into his shoulder. “ Hey, it’s ok, I’m gonna stay. I’ll stay all night. I-if you want me to, that is. “ A muffed ‘yes’ came from Zane, and the two then fell onto the carpeted flooring of Zane’s bedroom, and Jay just didn’t leave.
If this is what it took for Zane to feel better, then this is what it took.

Fictober 2023
Prompt #23
Fanfiction Fandom: Flash Rogues and Spider-Man
Rating: T
Day 22: "No, you won't understand. Ever."
The weird Flash Rogue/ Spider-Man villain crossover almost no one asked for, wherein I make Max Dillon (Electro) and Roscoe Dillon (The Top) cousins.
If there was one thing that Len Snart hated, it was planning out a heist to steal a large, valuable diamond from Central City’s Natural History Museum for weeks, only for some moron to swoop in and beat him to the scene of the crime. He hated it even more when the moron was some costumed freak with more powers than common sense; someone who would’ve been a two-bit loser all his life if he hadn’t gotten lucky and landed himself some sort of crazy superpower. And he especially hated it when the loser in question thought it was a good idea to attract every cop in the county by putting on a big, fancy light show in the middle of the museum that they were both trying to rob.
“I hate amateur night,” he muttered to himself as the brightly-garbed idiot blasted at everything within range. Len suspected that he was trying to overpower the museum’s security system, but if so, he clearly hadn’t done any research as to where the power supply to the security system might be. Len knew where it was, having researched and planned this heist for months, but he wasn’t about to help this loser find it.
“Aww, come on! How hard is it to fry one lousy security system?” the colorful moron yelled, voice thick with both annoyance and a strong New York accent. Len scowled. It was bad enough that this doofus was an amateur, but the fact that he wasn’t even from the Twin Cities made things much worse. Crook though he was, Len had hometown pride, and he was firmly against the idea of any of Central City’s valuables ending up in the pockets of some outsider—especially one who could attract the attention of the Flash at any second. Len upholstered his cold gun and fired a warning shot in the general direction of the very conspicuous idiot.
“Who’s there?” The newcomer fired off another bolt of light, but he missed Len by a mile. Where had this moron learned to aim?
“Come out, or I’ll fry you!” This time, the beam came close enough for Len to hear the tell-tale crackle of electricity, and he swore. Great. His heist had been hijacked by a walking electric generator.
“Stop shootin’, moron! Do you want to bring every cop in the country down on our heads?” Len snapped.
“Let ‘em come! I can take ‘em!” Len promptly froze the newcomer’s hands in a solid block of ice, in the hopes of putting an end to the attention-grabbing lightning blasts before they attracted any undue attention. It would take a lot of heat to melt through that ice, and, even if the moron was powerful enough to melt the ice—well, even Len knew enough about science to know that electricity and water didn’t mix.
“Overconfidence’ll get you killed in this business, kid,” he said as he stepped out from the shadows. The brightly-costumed idiot swore.
“Who are you?” he demanded.
“They call me Captain Cold. And if you’d bothered to do any research, you’d know that I don’t much like outsiders messin’ around with my city and my turf,” Len replied.
“I ain’t scared of an old man with a freeze gun!”
“It ain’t a freeze gun. It’s a cold gun. And if you don’t want me to ice more of you than your hands, I’d suggest that you drop the attitude.”
“You think you can match the power of Electro, old man?” The name ‘Electro’ sounded vaguely familiar, but Len couldn’t quite place it.
“I don’t think, kid. I know. My cold gun can fire a beam of absolute zero, enough to stop everything—even electricity—dead in its path. But if you want to test that theory, be my guest,” he replied. The newcomer scowled.
“Whaddaya want from me, old man?”
“You keep playing as stupid as you did today, and you’ll never be an old man. But that’s besides the point. What I want to know is who you are, and what you’re doin’ in my town.”
“I’m Electro—and if you weren’t from this podunk town, you’d know that I’m one of New York City’s most powerful supervillains.”  Len rolled his eyes. Grandstanding was only cool if you had the brains to back it up, and it was pretty obvious that this guy didn’t.
“You got “Electro” on your birth certificate?”
“You got “Captain Cold” on yours?” the amateur shot back.
“Fair point. Name’s Len. Len Snart. You?”
“Max Dillon. Not that it’s any of your business.” For whatever reason, this was enough to jolt Len’s memory, and he remembered why the name ‘Electro’ had sounded familiar.
“You fight that Spider-Man guy, don’t you?”
` “Fight him? I’ve almost beat him dozens of times!” Len snorted.
“Take it from someone who knows, kid. “Almost” don’t get the job done.”
“Don’t call me “kid”! My name is Electro!” Len ignored this outburst.
“So, what’s a New York supervillain doing in the Twin Cities?”
“I came here to visit a cousin of mine, but I’ve been having a deuce of a time trackin’ the guy down, and I figured I might as well make some money off of my time here while I was lookin’ for him. If you hadn’t gotten in my way, I’d’ve had the diamond and been gone by now!”
“If I hadn’t gotten in your way, you’d still be searchin’ for the power switch to the security system,” Len replied.
“Like you could’ve done better.”
“Watch me.” Len aimed his cold gun at the wall in which the alarm system was embedded and froze it solid. He then calmly walked up to the display case, froze the glass, shattered it, and grabbed the diamond.
“Show-off.”
“Says the guy who was puttin’ on a light show bright enough for the whole city to see,” Len replied. He stashed the diamond in his pocket, then holstered his cold gun.
“I can afford to put on a show. I produce enough electrical power to light up the entire city of New York for a month without breakin’ a sweat.” Len, pleased that he was likely going to get away with his diamond, decided that he might as well be generous. He wasn’t going to give up a score like this to anyone, but he would try to point the walking electric generator in the direction of his cousin.
“What’s your cousin’s name?”
“Huh?”
“You said you wanted to find your cousin. You know what his name is?”
“I do, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you know it, too. He runs in the same circles as us.” Len suddenly felt that horrible sinking feeling.
“You’re lookin’ for Roscoe Dillon, aren’t you?”
“Yeah. I’m trying to find the Top.” Len hated always being right.
***********************************************************
“Maxwell? What on Earth are you doing here?” Dillon demanded. From his tone of voice, Len was willing to bet that he and his city slicker cousin hadn’t gotten on all that well.
“It’s Electro now, coz. I’ve made it to the big leagues—just like you,” Max replied. Dillon immediately returned his attention to the top he had been fiddling with before Len and Max had arrived.
“Yes. I do remember reading about the freak accident that led to you acquiring your considerable electrical powers. Given the powerset with which you were gifted, it would have been surprising if you had not managed to gain some small notoriety as a costumed criminal—though I cannot say that you have used your powers to their fullest extent. Although since your father was always a failure, perhaps it is not so surprising that you are one, too,” Dillon said absently.
“Leave Pop out of this!” Max snarled. His eyes sparked with electricity, in a way that reminded Len of what Mark looked like when he was angry, and swirls of electricity started to circle around his hands.
“It is true, is it not? Uncle Jonathan never kept a job for more than six months at a time, and he was always asking my father for money—so much so that he was one of the reasons that we moved from New York City to the suburbs of the Twin Cities. Father said that his brother was an embarrassment to the Dillon family name. Do you have any idea how many times he told me that if I ever failed, I would end up like my Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Anita? Or like you, Maxwell?” And Dillon wondered why nobody ever wanted to hang out with him….
“Pop may’ve been a piece of work, but Uncle Reginald wasn’t no better! Mom—she needed help after Pop walked out on us, and he didn’t even answer her phone calls! Your pop was a banker! He had plenty of dough, and he still let his own nephew grow up in the slums!”
“Father made himself a very wealthy man through his own hard work. Uncle Jonathan and Aunt Anita were failures, and they were lazy. They shamed the Dillon name, and they certainly did not deserve any of his money,” Dillon replied.
“Uncle Reginald was just as lazy as my folks. Embezzlin’ money from the bank that hired you ain’t the same as work.” Dillon’s eyes started to glow green, and Len swore internally. If this turned into a brawl, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to contain it. He had managed to incapacitate Max by getting the drop on him last night, but he didn’t have the element of surprise this time, and both Max and Dillon were considerably more powerful than he was. If they started fighting, he—and the surrounding city block—-were going to be in big trouble.
“My father did not embezzle anything—and even if he did, he was clever enough to get away with it. That’s more than Uncle Jonathan managed when he lost his last job for internal theft,” Dillon said. Len stuck his fingers into his mouth and let out a loud whistle, and both Dillon and Max turned their attention to him,
“Cool it, both of you! The last thing we need is to have the whole city block destroyed by a super-powered family feud!” he barked.
“Cool it? Was that some sorta pun?” Max asked.
“Most likely. We’re quite fond of them here in Central City—though I suppose you lack the brainpower to appreciate them,” Dillon said.
“Let’s see if you’re so smug after I fry your brain!” Len rapidly unholstered his cold gun and managed to create a wall of ice in between the two cousins just before Max shot a bolt of electricity at Dillon.
“Knock it off, both of you! I happen to like this neighborhood, and I don’t want to see it get demolished because you two can’t get over old family grudges.”
“I do not remember asking for your opinion, Leonard.” Len smirked.
“Go ahead, then. Destroy the neighborhood. I’m sure Lisa will be thrilled to learn that her favorite shoe store got demolished because you got into a fight with some idiot wearin’ a flower mask,” he said. Dillon’s eyes stopped glowing, and he stepped away from the ice barrier that separated him from his cousin.
“In that case, I will endeavor to restrain myself. I would not wish to upset my darling Lisa,” he said quietly. With Dillon handled for the time being, Len turned to the younger of the two cousins.
“I sympathize with you, kid, I really do. I hate Dillon and his stuck-up attitude as much as anybody—but I ain’t gonna let you destroy my favorite bar just to get rid of him. So simmer down before I ice you permanently,” he said.
“Stop callin’ me “kid”! It’s ELECTRO!”
“Fine. Electro it is. Now calm down before we attract the cops—or worse, the Flash.” Much to Len’s relief, Max’s body stopped spitting electricity, and he sat down in a chair, arms folded across his chest.
“So, your family’s from New York?” Len asked Dillon.
“Yes. I was born there, and I lived there until I was about twelve years old. We moved into the area of the Twin Cities when my father was transferred from a bank in New York City to one in Central City.”
“And your fathers were brothers?”
“Yeah. Pop was Uncle Reginald’s younger brother. My Pop was a world-class loser, can’t deny that, but Uncle Reginald would’ve been just as much of one if he hadn’t found a way to steal all of grandpop’s inheritance and use that money to put himself through college. Half of it was supposed to go to my old man, but because Uncle Reginald was an adult when grandpop died and Pop was only a kid, he never saw a dime of it,” Max said.
“And, uh, how much older is Dillon than you?” Len asked.
“I am eleven years older than he is….which would make him twenty-nine years old. The age gap between my father and Uncle Jonathan was about the same, as I recall—but my father did not steal anything from my uncle. If he lost his inheritance, he did it all on his own.”
“So you left New York when he was only like a year old. How does he even remember you?”
“My family and I returned to New York City twice a year to visit my grandmother, once on the Fourth of July and once on Thanksgiving. Since Maxwell was also her grandson, he and Aunt Anita were also invited to her apartment for the holidays, and through that we came to know one another—though we never got along especially well.”
“Yeah, ‘cause you were a stuck-up snob who was more interested in your weird tops than in anything I said or did.”
“Tops are not weird. They are—” Len, having heard the “tops are the basis for gyroscopes” lecture many, many times, decided to cut it off before it could begin by asking another question.
“And what was your problem with Max, Dillon?”
“He was much younger than I was, and he had a most irritating habit of disorganizing my top collection. Besides, Father made it clear to me that I was not to spend too much time with him, because he would never amount to anything,” Dillon replied.
“And he was wrong, ‘cause I’m a supervillain now, and I’m just as famous as you!”
“Famous for being subdued by the same trick over and over again, perhaps. How many times have you been defeated via short-circuiting, exactly?”
“Better than bein’ famous as the nutjob who tried to blow up half the world.” Roscoe’s eyes started glowing again.
“I am not mentally ill! I am a genius, and it is not my fault that the world does not accept that fact!”
“You ain’t a genius! You’re a freak and a lunatic, and you’ve always been a freak and a lunatic! I remember how weird you were, with all that rocking and spinning and lining up your tops again and again. Mom used to say that she thought there was somethin’ wrong with you, and that Uncle Reginald just wouldn’t admit it.”
“I am NOT a freak! You don’t understand! You won’t understand, ever! No one ever did, least of all my aunt and uncle!” Dillon shrieked. The couch flipped over, seemingly of its own accord, and many of the smaller items in the apartment started to fly through the air. Len swore. This was not good. Dillon losing control over his telekinesis nearly always meant that he was on the verge of a breakdown, and Len really didn’t want to explain to Lisa that her boyfriend had had another one of his episodes because Len had brought his cousin to see him and accidentally ignited an old family feud in the process.
“You don’t want me to call you a freak? Then stop callin’ me a loser!” Max’s whole body started sparking with electricity, and the lights in the apartment began to flicker. He sounded like he might be on the verge of some sort of breakdown, too—and, since that meant that both cousins were now sufficiently distracted, Len was able to unholster his cold gun and freeze both of them solid just seconds before they could unleash their power on each other. They would survive, of course–Lisa would never forgive him if he did any permanent harm to her boyfriend—but they wouldn’t be able to fight each other for several hours, by which point their tempers would probably have cooled at least a little. He hoped.
One Dillon had been bad enough. Two was a prospect he wasn’t ready to deal with yet.
